Description

The Google Wifi app lets you set up and control your Google Wifi points or OnHub right from your mobile device. It puts you in control of your network -- easily share your Wi-Fi password, see what devices are online, prioritize them for better performance, or pause the Wi-Fi on kids’ devices. The app also provides insights to help you get the most out of your Wi-Fi. Here’s what you can do with the Google Wifi app: • Set up your Google Wifi system or OnHub in just a few minutes • Prioritize a device for faster speeds when it matters most • Pause the Wi-Fi on kids’ devices • See what’s connected to your network and how much bandwidth you’re using • Create a separate network for your guests • Run a network check to test your connection speed • Make changes to your settings, such as your Wi-Fi network name and password • Add a network manager who can help you monitor your Wi-Fi

  • Wifi Pause Status Broken

We have 7 schedules with 20+ devices setup in the app. They all seem to be working and pausing the internet at the appropriate times (good) but the app always now says they are not paused (bad). It's very hard to know if the schedules are actually working without checking all the devices which is impractical. Also it would be great if I could temporarily enable the internet for a device that would stay in effect until the next schedule change. Currently I have to disable the schedule or remove the label from the schedule to create an exception and unfortunately these changes are permanent and I have to remember to restore them later. Temporary exceptions for a specific device would solve most of these issues.

It’s been months of trying to get my IOS devices to connect to google WiFi without any prevail. Some Mac devices work, but others have so many connectivity problems, I’d even recommend Comcast. I love Google but this Google WiFi should not be sold as is. The Google help forums are locked so IOS users can’t up-vote common problems. Seems like Google is trying to hide common issues instead of fixing them.
  • Lack of support

The app itself functions decent. The product also is functional at a basic level but there are bugs that have been ignored by Google for years. I regret my purchase of this product because it seems they are not supporting it any longer. WiFi calling does not work on any carrier most of the time. If you have multiple phones in a household only one can use it and often times none will work. There are plenty of people complaining about this yet Google does nothing about it. I'll be ditching this product soon.
  • Desperate need for this app

We need an iPad version of this app. I have my iPad set next to my living room chair. I use it to monitor and control my house easily from one place. I need this app to provide a landscape option. I want to be able to dive into my google Wifi system from the larger screen at any moment I need. And that is just not possible with my phone… Google please change this…we all need this option to be there when we want it.
  • Lots of Features lacking

Provides a mesh network as advertised. However significantly underperforms with features. Lacks the ability to limit bandwidth to individual devices. You can only prioritize speed for one device. Once device is connected, you are unable to remove it from the network, a feature that is desperately needed. You have to change the WiFi password and then reconnect all devices. Imagine have multiple Nest thermostats or cameras, smart device and having to do this. Makes me want to avoid Google devices in the future.
  • The App LIES

The app lies about speed tests!! It shows that I’m getting over 200mbps download speeds. I immediately go to the OOKLA Speed test app and what I’m actually getting is 4.10 mbps... why lie? Why?
  • About as easy as it can get

This is my second google mesh network. I gave up on my old Apple router. I tried Netgear Orbi but the app kept crashing after I initially set up the network. The Google app is well designed.
  • Terrific except for one GIANT FLAW

There is no way to password protect the app, which means any teen, tween or other can easily defeat the pause function. Apart from enabling those whose devices you wish to pause to prevent mixing up their days and nights, it’s great.
