Description

Hi, we're Jonas, Trevor, and Dan, the crew behind Hello Weather. There are a million weather apps out there, and they're all overloaded with ugly ads, confusing interfaces, and stupid gimmicks. We think that stinks, so we made the antidote—a straightforward, no-nonsense app that’s a joy to use. Five reasons why you’ll love planning your day with Hello Weather... • All the info you need is right in your face. Our gorgeous, information-rich design shows you everything that matters in one simple screen. You’ll see the current conditions and future forecast in an instant. • You won’t waste time looking at useless stuff. Hello Weather intelligently adapts to changing conditions. When it's stormy, you’ll see all the relevant details right upfront. When conditions improve, it’s all tucked neatly out of the way again. • You’ll get predictions you can trust. Hello Weather is more than a pretty face. It’s powered by the world’s best data sources: Dark Sky, Weather Underground, AccuWeather, and The Weather Channel. Pick the provider that's best in your area, or switch back and forth to compare. (Upgrade required.) • You don’t need to be a weather expert. What does barometric pressure mean? Is the dewpoint good or bad? We translated those esoteric stats into human words, so you’ll know how it really feels outside. • It’ll make you smile. We filled the app with tons of thoughtful little touches to brighten your day. You’ll love the beautiful color themes, automatic night mode, and sweet secret extras. And that's not all… • Radar’s built right in. When a storm's a-brewin', we've got your back. Our radar tab shows you exactly what's headed your way. (US/Canada/Australia only, upgrade required.) • Made with <3 by a tiny indie company. We pour a lot of love into our app, and we take great care of our customers. We're always just an email or tweet away, and we love hearing from you! Here's what the experts say: "Easily the best weather app on the market." — Ben Brooks, The Brooks Review "An easy, straightforward weather app that shows you just what you need to know." — AppAdvice "Hello Weather strips it down to the essence." — Macworld "Very smart, with a clean layout and readable graphs. It eschews complexity without limiting information." — TechRadar "Well designed and clearly made with love, with lots of delightful little details throughout. — Tools and Toys" --- Hello Weather's FREE forever and it’s only $4.99/year for the Pro stuff. Free features: • No ads or gimmicks! • Simple and easy to read forecasts. • Automatic color themes (cold, warm, hot) and night mode. • Unlimited saved locations. • Powered by Dark Sky. • Weather Units customization. Join our Fan Club for $4.99/year and get: • Radar (US, Canada, Australia only) • Forecast data sources: switch to Weather Underground, Accuweather, The Weather Channel, or AerisWeather. • Real-time precipitation estimates (US, UK, and Ireland only) • Night mode controls. • Custom Home Screen icons. • Other secret stuff! --- In-App Purchase Subscription Conditions and Terms of Use If you decide to join our Fan Club and upgrade for extra features, here are the details: • You'll be charged $4.99/year on a renewing basis. • Payment will be charged to your iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase. • Your subscription will automatically renew each year, unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. • Your account will be charged $4.99 for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period. • You can manage your subscription and renewal settings, or discontinue your subscription by going to Account Settings after purchase. • Awesome app, responsive devs

What else can you ask for? No more multiple weather app installs. One provider works better than the other? Great - then select it! They solve the problem of switching apps because of a better reliability of data from weather source x. Their support has been phenomenal- did you know they actually respond? I have no faults for the app, period. It’s exactly what I expected and I joined the fan club. Spreading the word about this app is a joy. Thanks again for the hard work, devs!

I am such a massive fan of Hello Weather. I particularly like the ability to select the source of your weather data on the paid plan. I love that! App is clean and looks great. Well done! My one (very small) request is to be able to move modules around. For example, I’d love to move the “this week” section above the “current weather” section.

The in-app purchase does not work! You purchase it and it does not download. All I got was a really long error message. This has never happened to me with any app before. I bought this app because of it's "purchased" ability to change weather sources, but with this error on the download, it is useless

There are not many apps out there that supply you Dew point. Dew point is the way to go if you are watching it to decide what you are going to. It is very easy to understand and find what you are looking for. Way to go developers
  • So far so good, room for improvement.

Great, clean, user interface and design. Only missing feature is the lack of no future radar, this is especially frustrating because this app works on a subscription based model, whereas other free (albeit ad-ridden) weather apps have this feature. Add this feature to complete the user experience.

Update review: this is still my only weather app I use. Radar, multiple sources, and simplicity. This app seemed to just come out of the blue but it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for in a weather app! Every source you can imagine, customization of homescreen icon, dark mode. 5/5 perfect weather app!

This easily is my favorite weather app right now. I still really would love to see the icons for the weather conditions to have animations. I think it would look awesome. Also maybe you could give the non fan club members a new app icon. I really I’m not a fan of the default app icon color. This was a solid update and I hope we see updates a little more often cause this app I can just see it getting better. I’m always looking forward to new stuff

Speedy, elegant, attractive, versatile, and connected to a great range of data sources. Great app.
  • Amazing UI Design...

...but poor interaction design (swiping should be responsive and the app should respond in real time rather than wait for swipe and then respond; when using tab bar people expect to switch the view rather than open a modal (e.g. settings and location)), the Today widget could be more useful and display weather prediction by hour and when the app is loading it should at least remember last weather info instead of a blank screen with a spinner. After contacting the developer, it seems like their understanding of interaction design is lacking and there’s no intention to improve on the points above. I have cancelled my subscription.

Since discovering Hello Weather early this year, it has become my default weather app with dark sky as a source I find it always has the best forecast possible. The only thing I’d like is to have the ability to get notifications when rain is about to start/stop so one may plan ahead those trips between the car and buildings.
