    The keyboard becomes unresponsive on the signup screen. I cannot use password managers either. Unusable. I’ll have to sign up online and then come back this terrible excuse for an app

    Navigation and tracking are absolutely terrible in this app. You have to search for what you were watching each and every time you come back. You can only add episodes, not series, to your watchlist. You can’t turn off auto play. Basically, a disaster from a usability perspective. Too bad, too, since HBO programming is so good, and HBO Now gives you access to every bit of it. Get your act together, HBO, and design an app worthy of your shows and subscribers. UPDATE: Developer response dated Mar 12 appeared instantly after I posted this review on October 16. Response refers me to a link for information about auto play, but I had checked the HBO NOw help files only a few minutes before writing this review and learned that auto play cannot be turned off. If the link in the developer’s response were live, I might have clicked through to some new information already, but it’s not live. So I guess I’ll have to sit down and type the convoluted URL into a browser in order to learn more. Yet another example of this developers ineptitude when it comes to usability!
  • Try free period false advertisement..

    Tell me why I’m reading on the tv try hbo now free for 1 month yet when I go to add it and in the app it tells me only 7 days... Also if you add through Hulu it’s the same. PlayStation add says 30 days but you can’t add on there.. That is false advertisement!
  • Recent updates have significantly improved HBO Now

    When I initially reviewed this back in Feb 2018, I was having frequent issues with the app starting up. It would just show a mostly blank screen with no progress indicator as it loaded content for its home screen. There is still no progress indication, but I have very rarely seen the stalled home screen loading for months. I also have not had issues editing my watchlist for some time. Finally, the video screen has changed back to black borders in a recent update. The distracting gray letterboxing on my iPad Pro screen is gone. The gray background now only shows when the playback controls are visible. The app is getting better all the time, but it still has some usability issues holding it back from a five star rating. Keep at it, HBO developers, you're doing great.
  • Audio issue

    I have been trying to watch season 7 of true blood for a week. So frustrating. The audio works for a bout 30 seconds and then jumps to some other point so they are completely out of alignment. Makes this app absolutely worthless. I have deleted and reinstalled with no success.

    This has got to be the worst streaming application I’ve used to date. For HBO to have such great content and pride in its production, HBO under its name offers this buggy error ridden platform. This app has worked on the PS network but not on my Roku or fire stick. I’ve dealt with customer service that has laid the fault at my ISP. Or opens a work order and the issue is not resolved. The system just doesn’t work as advertised or consistently enough! HBO should be offering refunds and focusing on rebuilding the app to address the errors, restarts and failure to stream.
  • Hate the commercials

    Thanks HBO for ruining the experience of watching the first episode of a new series by putting commercials for other shows, including spoilers for other series I watch, before the actual episode. I’m paying for this subscription, why do I have to what commercials? I can forward but then I have to go back and forth until I get the actual start for what I want to see. This does NOT make me want to see the other show that is advertised
