This app is super buggy on iOS 12. But the most important thing about the app that you want to use it for, such as smart home things, it doesn’t do very well because it can’t add the actual skills. This is due to poor app design, because you can’t even search for the skills that you need because the search field is nonfunctional. Even if you can’t find the skills that she want without searching, it actually never installs or as the scale. So when you go to automatically find a device that you’re trying to add, it just errors out and now you're at square one. NOTHING EVER ADDS Im using an iPhone X with iOS 12. I was trying to use my Dyson, hue lights, and Wemo devices that I have all set up in my home, and unfortunately only google home or HomeKit seems to work with any of these devices if they are compatible. The Alexa app is war garbage-town. This does not reflect my view on any of the echo devices, but this app needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. It’s just too difficult to use, extremely convoluted, and you have to be darn near IT (and I am) to use it. STAY AWAY.

I love all my Echo devices; however, the Alexa app design is terrible. It's clunky, unintuitive, and just plain ugly.
  • Issues with Spotify

When I ask to play a song, it plays perfectly, but I have to open the Spotify app, the Alexa app does not show what song is playing anymore, it used to. I use a song to wake up my kids in their room, so it is annoying having to open Spotify instado Alexa app.
  • Doesn’t let me sync Spotify

I have Spotify premium and every time I try and connect Spotify it says: upgrade to “Spotify premium” and there is nothing I can do. No override or anything. Called amazon and they are aware and can’t come up with a solution so basically one of the features is false advertise. To me, at least.
  • Lack of Siri shortcuts unfortunate

With the latest update, Amazon has refused to add Siri shortcuts integration which makes using this app even more frustrating.
  • Great Idea, Lousy Execution

The concept is great but the app is simply awful. Does not open consistently, slow to load, awkward interface, missing features, difficult navigation. For example, why is clearing completed items from a list an “all or nothing” choice? Why not let me clear selected? Why must I always go to the menu even when I did not close the app? Why can it not remember that I was at a list and just stay there? I cannot listen to an audio book and use the app at the same time. These are only a few examples of frustrating imperfection.
  • Watch your memory usage

Works fair other than the constant crashes. Can get frustrating for sure. One thing to watch is memory usage. I was about to install IOS 12 and found I was almost out of space. Weird, how did that happen? So I checked storage and, yup, Alexa app was taking almost 4gb. Yes, 4gb. Nuts. Don’t understand why apps neglect to provide a simple option the clear the cache - have to delete and reinstall the app.

Wish the app would start up quicker on cell and WiFi connections. Still an issue
