At last , a music app that provides access to all kinds of music, at different levels of difficulty, different instrumentation and vocals, in different keys—and at reasonable prices. And best of all, it is truly user friendly. Thank you, Music Notes!

Great that you can buy songs but my problem is if I type in a song from the app it will charge me more money than if I go through the internet as a 1 time customer. For instance sound of silence through the app it tells me it $6.99. When I go through the internet it $5.50. Is this how you treat your customers?
  • Not so great. Details below.

Look, this would be a great product if I could buy music for a normal price, but since I’m being charged a premium, here are my complaints and why it’s only worth a star. 1. Clunky UI, not very responsive. My guess is this is not a true native app and probably uses phonegap or some other web to native transpiler. It’s particularly a pain to flip pages while your playing. If I really want to play, I’m going to need to print. 2. Cost. I paid $13 bucks for one digital version of a Hans Zimmer song. I can buy a physical copy of the entire Hans Zimmer collection for $0.89 more on Amazon. 4-6 bucks seems more reasonable. 3. The print trap. First, they let you print only once. What?? Oh and an additional 2 bucks for a PDF? $ for additional prints? Do they think I’m an idiot? Just print to PDF so you don’t get screwed. This is basic functionality folks, and if you don’t know this basic function of a computer, surely you should just go get some 5 cent copies made. Utterly ridiculous. 4. $10 monthly subscription includes syncing between devices? I thought I was already paying a premium here. Not going to sign up for that. Ever. 5. Trash midi. Give me a better sampled instruments, or better yet, let me connect my own device. In conclusion, I may buy a piece on here in a pinch, when my options are limited, but I’ll feel like I’m being robbed. Print your sheets to PDF! If they want to make a profit, give me realistic prices and cut the scams. Add better midi support. With that, I may consider this an acceptable product, but as of now, nope.

I have come to rely on Musicnotes whenever I need piano sheet music. Sometimes I play it on piano and sometimes on the harp. The selection of tunes is vast and the on-the-spot printing (or electronic download to an app) cannot be beat. Thank you.

I purchased because it said I could print but it looks like you have to pay extra for the pdf sheets that allow you to print. Does tell you this in the description. I need to be able to print so this is useless. Very disappointed.
  • What I don’t Understand

I don’t understand that every single piece of music has to be bought. This is very hard to do when you are looking for something free for a ten year old. I hope you will change this or a lot of people will not be downloading this app. Thank you for considering my opinion.
  • I love this app but there are some things that should be fixed

I love this app but I feel that there should be some things that need to be fixed to function better and for less frustration 1. For the song I feel that it would be nice if were like online musicnotes where you’re able to hear the whole song instead of just a piece of it on the musicnotes app. 2. I feel that there should be an actual piano instead of a computerized key board piano because when going into audition rooms, they will play an actual piano and it will throw you off and it has when it sounds different than what you practiced. 3. I also feel that there should be a filter on the musicnotes app and online where you can look at songs but also have different voices as in like mezzo soprano, alto along with separate genres too instead of having pop rock there should also just be rock, etc. 4. For the musical theater audition cut there should be more songs, vocal range as in if you’re mezzo-soprano, soprano, alto and more genres as well. 5. For the Musicnotes player on the computer I feel should be more easier to navigate and should be similar to the phone app of music notes and online because it has been confusing using the musicnotes player and it’s not very good but it could be a lot better. 6. A student discount would be nice. I and many others go to school and paying for sheet music is a lot and I think that there should be an option where if you go to school for community college, university, etc that there should be that option to get a discount. 7. I think for the sheet music that it should also have on the description of the range of what the sheet music goes to. Ex: C3 to an A5. I hope that you guys fix some of these problems in the future especially having an actual piano instead of a computer keyboard piano and keyboard because that one throws a lot of us off and other problems. Thank you
