    While I do love this app and have mostly been success buying and selling on it, there are some updates I would love to see. First, we are completely unable to poorly rate bad buyers who refuse to communicate or rate us. We do not get paid until they rate and it’s extremely tedious waiting for the app to do so on our behalf. Then we loose a good rating for a great product and can’t warn other sellers that this buyer is a nuisance. Secondly it takes an extremely long time for the funds to be transferred into my bank account. After waiting days to a week for a rating then waiting another week or more for the funds to transfer it’s hardly possible to keep a steady income flowing. I hate constantly having to write to support about bad buyers when it would be so much easier to just not sell to these people if we could see ratings showing they refuse to cooperate. They also now added where they show if the buyer or seller cancels a transaction. Which is fine if it’s a problem but mistakes happen and when you don’t want to sell to someone due to poor ratings you should be allowed to cancel without a negative mark on your profile. Other than these issues customer service is great and the app runs so smoothly. I usually recommend this app to everyone but now add warnings to it. And it makes my friends hesitant to use it. I hope these issues can be resolved one day to make selling more peaceful and timely.

    I'm going to be the person who says if I could give zero stars I would. This all started with someone returning something. All I wanted to know was the reason why so I could be more detailed if I listed again. I sent multiple messages through the app and multiple emails. No response. So they they say they are sending me the buyer a return label to print out. The put the wrong return address on it! The buyer isn't responding to me, their customer service isn't responding to me, so I call. I was on hold for 13 minutes for someone to tell me, "Oh idk how this happened." Puts me in another hold, for another ten minutes. Then they say the only thing they can do is contact the seller before they drop it off at the post office. But if they drop off before then I have to be the one to call the post office in the hopes that they don't ship it out, and in the hopes that they can change my address. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal. But of course the item is an iPhone, not a $5 top. So then I asked for a phone call when they get a hold of the seller. Nope can't do that. We will TRY to email you as soon as we find out. Literally worst customer experience I have ever experienced. I recommend any other site besides this one. Horrible.

    If I can give the most lowest star rating I would, they use to be so into customer service and now you’re lucky if they even reply back to you. I spoke with a Vito, Abbi and Shan were the worst. If you run into these 3 better ask for someone else to get a hold of. They won’t allow you to make multiple accounts per household due to fraud, hello people would like to have multiple stores that pertains to certain things, they suspended mine but didn’t even have any proof of fraud nor did I commit it. If eBay and amazon allows you to create multiple accounts, it should also be allowed to do it here. I thought this was the selling app for me, find another app if I were you!!!

    It would be great if when you search something you only see items currently for sale. Seeing all the sold items makes the app look messy and increases searching time and it’s annoying. You should only see items listed that are actually purchasable.
  • They only protect buyers

    I sold a brand new VS bomber jacket (with tags attached) to user Cheerrich09. She requested a return saying that the jacket did not look like the pictures that were online. Mercari simply accepted it without any questions. I reached out to them to get more clarification and to track the shipment back. They gave me the run-around for 3 weeks!! After 3 weeks, they simply said the case was closed and they couldn’t do anything about it. And if I was having issues with the package, I should directly reach out the the post office. Customer service at Mercari is definitely not a priority. Sell at your own risk on this platform. I suggest selling on Poshmark. Commission is higher but I haven’t had any issues with scammers. It’s also easier to sell because there are way more users.

    (Knock on wood) After reading the comments by “most recent”, I have to wonder why I haven’t had those problems yet but I guess I shouldn’t be complaining. I guess because I don’t really sell anything other than clothes, shoes and accessories but doing so I’ve never had one issue. This app makes it quick and easy to sell AND purchase and it’s such a more navigable app than poshmark! The only thing I would add to the app is maybe when making a post, have more options to narrow down the search like color and size so it’s easier for buyers to find exactly what they’re looking for. Either way it’s a great app!!!!
  • It’s been six months

    I really like how this app is organized so that you don't get other unrelated results most of the time by having a limit of 3 tags per posting. Everything is straightforward and there's little to fuss about. What I would appreciate, however, would be an addition of emojis to the messaging. It's a lot easier to convey the tone of what people are trying to say and reduces a lot of contextual issues in communicating. It's not necessary, but I think it would be great to have. Update 09/18: I especially appreciate that buyers leave great reviews for me, but why can’t I leave a review even if the other person won’t? I would also consider that if the buyer requested to cancel the purchase because I was able to provide prompt responses that I cannot fulfill it due to a hurricane, my badges should not be taken away for this reason. -1 star for that because I had to cancel a large transaction for Hurricane Lane, when everything officially closed here.
