Description

Learn Spanish, French, Italian, German, and many more languages with Babbel. Developed by a team of language learning experts, Babbel has helped millions of people speak a new language with confidence. THE BABBEL METHOD Here’s what makes Babbel more effective than any other language learning app: 1. Confidence — Our goal is to get you speaking from your very first lesson. And our elegantly designed courses give you the confidence to get there. We teach you how to engage in practical, everyday conversations, making it easier for you to have authentic experiences in your new language. 2. Comprehension — Our lessons immerse you in relevant culture and real-life conversations. We want you to really take in the language, not just memorize useless phrases. And we provide helpful hints in English (or your native language) to make your new language more relatable. 3. Retention — We know you’re busy. That’s why our lessons are short but sweet: about 10-15 minutes, and designed to send your new language straight to long-term memory. We regularly refresh your memory with our dynamic review sessions, which target areas where you need improvement most. Finally, we make sure you really grasp what you’re learning by bringing it back later in a new context. • Portuguese app is very buggy

I hate leaving a bad rating but the app keeps crashing when I try to access the specific lessons I need! So frustrating! It is also locking lessons and saying I need to subscribe (which I have already done) to access them. 😭

You get one lesson for free. After that, pay up. I didn't know this until I signed up, it's buried down on the bottom of the page, after all the glowing phrases. Needless to say, I deleted it.
  • Is good, but shouldn’t be advertised as free.

Was really excited to learn french. Im from Louisiana and have a creole(i know its not the same language) background so I thought it might be cool to learn. Advertised for free online, but i get through the first lesson and have to pay. Was not impressed with that. Other than that, i think it will help a lot of people learn different languages. Just don’t advertise things for free that aren’t free.

It does not work for me! The fact that I am unable to go back to rework through the assignments does not help me at all. How can I learn if I’m unable to take the time I need to get it right?!!
  • The app doesn’t work with my subscription.

I love the app on my laptop but it’s not recognizing my purchase on my phone app so I can only use the application on my lap top.
  • No too hard.

This app is not good. It is more interested in spelling than hearing.
  • App crashes

The app is constantly crashing. I couldn’t even use it. I uninstalled and reinstalled and it still won’t work. I purchased the 6 month trial and I never should have. Would like a refund.

I was getting tired of Duolingo so I gave this a try. It said it was free and then after the first lesson it asks what subscription you would like to pay for. NO THANKS!!!
  • Better stuff out there for beginners

If you miss something it just fills it in for you and moves on. I think this was not worth the money and this has little explanation on a lot of things. I’ve found free stuff that does a better job.
  • Meh

I would like to have been able to know better what was in the lessons so I didn’t have to start to decide to continue or not. I don’t know if it’s the speaker or me but the female Spanish enunciator added a short a sound at phrases and sentences that ended in r. I don’t think the method helps me with conversation much with disjointed phrases an manually writing them. It’s too much like US high school Spanish I.e not the best way to learn functionally. It helped, however, to refresh vocabulary and usage to get me back on a neglected horse.
