Medium is made for you: readers, writers, thinkers — people who are genuinely curious about the world and your part in it. We are a home for big ideas that take on some of the most exciting and perplexing questions of the day. From opinion pieces to interviews to in-depth reportage, photography, and features, Medium stories take many shapes, but always leave you with a bit more insight into the world. Our app features a clean reading experience designed to let you focus on the story (without an ad in sight) wherever you are, from your commute to your couch. You can read a select number of stories for members each month for free — or subscribe for $5/month for unlimited access. HOMEPAGE: The sheer volume of information on the internet can get to be too much. So in our app, we curate stories based on your personal interests and our editors’ picks of the most interesting and vital reads of the day. You’ll always see a mix of featured and personalized stories on your feed. COLLECTIONS: Our editors package the best stories on Medium into multi-part collections that you can binge-read or savor over time. You can explore our monthly magazine, which features new stories every weekday on big, meaty themes. You’ll find expert columns, multi-author anthologies, and comprehensive explainers. READING: Our app is meticulously designed for readers to let you focus on the words. Bookmark stories on your personal reading list. Add your voice to the conversation by writing a response. Clap for stories to show writers your appreciation. If there’s a particular line or passage that intrigues you, highlight it for posterity. MEMBERSHIP: With a free Medium account, you get access to all these features, can read all free stories on Medium, and can read a select number of stories for members (the ones with a star next to them) per month. If you upgrade to become a Medium member, you’ll get unlimited access to everything Medium has to offer: the smartest and most ambitious stories from the sharpest writers on Medium, audio versions of popular stories, offline reading access, and more. All for $5/month or $50/year. WRITING: For writers, we know the inspiration knows no bounds — you can compose a new story on the go and then switch easily to your tablet or computer without a hiccup. Your Medium membership will automatically renew each month, and you will be charged $4.99 through your iTunes account within 24-hours prior to the end of the current monthly cycle. You can turn off auto-renew at any time from your iTunes account settings up until 24-hours before the end of the current period, but refunds will not be provided for any unused portion of the term. • I somehow missed

    By Sempil
That you are required to login to see if this works. That is a Very big turnoff.
  • Great app very useful

    So many good articles
  • Needs Next Level Improvement.

    By EngageAmerica
I was an early contributor who got lost as Medium changed its subscription modality. It was messy and I am now rethinking its value.
  • Worthwhile

    By Tio Piv
I don’t know of too many more worthwhile places to expose yourself to new ideas and experience personal growth than Medium. I hope it moves up to the top of my new, but presently rather shameful, weekly Apple Screen Time report. -s.
  • Why I’m a “medium girl”

    By christinebeck
And no, I’m not a girl. I’m a 70-year old woman. I don’t follow Instagram, don’t have a Twitter account. I do have a website. I’m not a techno-phobe. But I read postings on only two sites: Brain Pickings by Maria Popova and Medium. Why? Popova’s site connects literature and philosophy in astounding ways. The graphics on the site, usually from a book under review, are insightful and gorgeous. But Medium has the advantage of multiple voices and the ability to tailor topics to what most interests me. But just when I think I know what “interests me,” I’ll find a story on Medium on a different topic and decide that interests me too! I love that people are writing so powerfully and connecting their thoughts with others. Medium has inspired me to become a regular contributor.
  • Where has Medium been all my life

    By Women are Waking Up
All I have to say is WOW! I have pretty much stopped reading every day newspapers online. I recently came across an article that was the Medium site. I couldn’t get enough and read other articles. Seriously so good and so happy to have become a member. It’s helping me expand my knowledge of so many things. Thank you Medium
  • Number of claps is gone!

    By Shifat-E-Arman
Why can I not see number of claps in a post in preview? -_-
  • Invasive and unnecessary

    By Vincent Jenks
I think Medium itself is fantastic. Easily the best blogging platform ever, but the app just gets in the way. I read a ton of tech news and much of it comes from Medium. Every time I tap a link, I don’t want to be forced to launch the app, I just want to read it in my browser, be able to bookmark it, or just keep it open in a tab for later. More than any other app I’ve seen, this one just gets in your face. It’s obnoxious, so I always end up removing it, be it iOS or Android. Logging in via the browser, there’s nothing I can’t do in the app, so it’s useless to me anyhow. I gave it two stars because the app is well built and does it’s job, otherwise I would have given one for how forcefully I’m driven to it.
