Winner of the 2014 Innov8 For health competition, Wholesome is the only experience that collects healthy recipes from the web, allows you to track them, and gives personal recommendations to optimize your nutrition. Wholesome scores recipes out of 10 points on their healthfulness. Points are added for nutrition density and deducted for things like too much sugar or sodium. Scores provide the feedback that allow you to compare recipes and make conscious decisions about what you eat. • Love the wholesome ap!

    By Swagggggin it
When you are hungry; it’s usually because you are lacking in certain nutrients. People are wasting money, and potentially damaging their health with unnecessary supplements. The Wholesome ap lets you input your diet and drill down to the specific minerals and nutrients to see what you are lacking. I was using the USDA ap, but it was discontinued, and Wholesome is way more easy to use!
  • No bar code scanner

What else is there to say.
  • Easy to use

    By Diggity Do
Lots of foods in the database and adding new one is pretty easy
  • Misleading

    By thejaymeg
Was unable to even enter 1 item into the food diary without upgrading to Pro for $3.99. I uninstalled within minutes.
  • Bugs

Every username, including the ridiculous, he’s already used?
  • No scanner :( No comprehensive food list

    By st2324
Coming from years of using My Fitness Pal’s extremely extensive list of foods, it was difficult to make the switch to Wholesome. The first item I wanted to add to the diary wasn’t in the database. There was no scanner to add it, and honestly I didn’t want to take the time to add each and every nutritional value into the app. This seems to be a good app if you eat exclusively “whole foods.” Bummer that I wasted $3.99 to not even be able to add one food to the diary! (PS you have to pay that $3.99 to track food)
  • Other reviews

I see a lot of the other reviews include issues, bugs, and lots of suggestions to make the app better. Are any of these items being implemented and/or changed? This app has a lot of potential and I want to support it! But if there’s no betterment than that’s very discerning.
  • Please add barcode scanning feature

    By CatNoPdx
Got this app to help me track vit k but like it as an overall button tracker. It would get 4-5 stars if there was a way to scan items via barcode rather than input by hand.
  • Food diary doesn’t work

    By Nolabelle727
Although the app is beautiful, I purchased it for the food diary, along with the added nutrition suggestions it was to provide after daily food intake was entered into the food diary. Unfortunately, I can no longer use the diary! Upon each attempt to enter what I ate, the message “Ooops! Can not modify user” appears. Don’t understand why because I’m using the same phone and have not changed my settings. ... Worthless at this point.
  • Not free

    By Coreeeena
Strange app, as soon ad you try to log a food you get a screen to upgrade to the paid “Pro” app and there is no way around it. So once you download the “free” app it is useless because it forces you to download the paid app.
