I love Korg Gadget but it’s samplers lack so many features such as copy from one pad to another, real-time time stretch, etc. just to name a few. Korg Gadget has great synths though.
  • Please improve copy/paste tracks between scenes. Please!

Importing a midi file into Gadget has become so much better. Because of that I’ll add another star! Thanks to the Gadget team! The next major improvement is the copy/paste of bars. Moving a bar from one scene to another deletes the previous bars in that scene. Gadget needs to be better at nondestructively moving around bars to different scenes. I should be able to either prepare a place to copy the information or Gadget should ask where to place it (what bar and beat) and built out the existing bar as needed. It doesn’t have to be fine tuned. Just let me copy over one or two bars nondestructively to another scene and I’ll be able to edit the rest as needed. Freedom with editing is what takes a DAW from being a toy to being a useful creative tool. Lastly, Gadget is such a great tool. The sounds, flexibility, and features make it the top DAW for feeding your creativity. My only other request for future expansion would be more acoustic drum and bass Gadgets along with another guitar amp modeling Gadget. Add that with IR importing would bee even better!

Been trying out multiple apps for catching my musical ideas while out and about. Gadget is a fine thing to have in the Groove Arsenal. With built in cloud share and expandable instruments, it gives the production a nice sparkle straight from the fingertips. Big Korg fan, also using Kaossalator app and microKorg hardware.

🥺 Can we get a search bar . . . . . When you click open there should be a search bar there to help you find the project you want to open . . . . . That’s gotta be worth that fifth star 😬
  • For crying out loud implement a Midi-out Gadget already!

Great app. Zero responsiveness from Korg regarding the myriad of forum-requests for the ability to control external gear and/or other apps from within Gadget. The addition of the this functionality would be of great use for reasons too obvious to list here, which reasons having already been exhaustively discussed in online forums. Without having quantitative evidence yet having followed closely any new developments (there were none) up to 2017, peak clamoring for this feature seems to have been flagged as of about a year ago but i suspect this was not due to a loss of interest but due instead to 1) non-responsiveness from Korg as far as delivering - that is, actually implementing this widely requested feature and 2) sheer frustration at Korg’s lack of interest in merely confirming or denying the existence of any plans to implement the feature. So users are stuck with inelegant work-arounds for what would surely be a substantial improvement to such a great app.

Great update!!!! Love this production center. Love the gadgets! One thing. I no longer have or can afford an iPad which means I can’t get iM1 on my iPhone which I did purchase when I had an iPad that became obsolete.
  • Needs work and Korg doesn’t care

-Sample management is horrendous. If you are organizing samples into files, you are penalized by having to back out of the filing hierarchy each time you load a new one. This is particularly frustrating with the Bilbao (an expensive in app purchase). -Knob movements are klunky AND there is no fine or jump adjustment, no zeroing out shortcut. I find that even on the pad pro with the pencil I’m having to grind my workflow to a halt to gingerly move my values to where I want them. -You have to either tap or fine tune to change the bpm. And the gesture is ‘meh’... So even adjusting the bpm can be a slog. -On a similar note, in the (in app purchase) Abu Dahbi sampler, the ability to control your values can be incredibly frustrating. As you should be able to adjust multiple sections at the same time (ie pitch.). The markers should be easier to move (or delete) -There is not a select all operation for midi notes, so have fun (sarcasm) swimming up and down, left and right through measures selecting and moving (transposing, pushing all forward, back) -any attempt to contact Korg has been ignored. So you’re on your own. ...and more issues. (buyer beware, do a little research) I’ve had the Gadget for 3+ years. I use it somewhat often, but I often find myself slowing down and banging my head to deal dumbest design flaws. I think I expected Korg to correct some of these concerns.. The Gadgets themselves are a mixed bag. The synths are mostly good;. The London is a pretty weak drum machine, and the Amsterdam makes me ashamed for our species. Half are pretty tweekable while the others are very fixed for lazy EDMer’s. The best instruments for me have been some of the in app purchases; Kamata, Milpitas, Lexington.. (kind of been avoiding any further additions...) There is some power here, the piano roll sequencer is mostly pretty great, playback and looping of the individual gadgets and their respective lengths is nice in a dumbed down Ableton sort of way. But you are locked in to 4 bar measures (at least there is Triplets). If the usability workflow got ironed out I believe this would be a 4 star app. Not 5 because of the inclusion of mostly junk, snake-oil Gadgets... It deserves 2 now. and Korg needs to engage with their customers on a better level AND ACCEPT FEEDBACK.
