  • Good reference

    By DLMcKiernan
As a writer of some note, I have owned for years the two-volume set of the Oxford English Dictionary. And now I own the electronic edition of the Oxford Dictionary of English. And though I still use the two-volume OED as a primary reference, I use the electronic OED for quick lookups.
  • Audio

    By WAQW98
The audio of this dictionary is muffled and blurry, much much inferior in quality to that of Merriam-Webster. And after a while it totally stops working. I first gave a five-star and now changed it to only one.
  • Excellent

  • Excellent dictionary

This is probably the best dictionary in the App Store. It has an extensive list of words, good examples of usage, and useful etymologies. Not to mention audio of each word. Well worth the cost.
  • Decent dictionary

App wouldn’t shut up until I gave it a rating, so I gave it a rating.

Excellent dictionary. Poor app. At least make your launch screen full device height; Apple hasn’t made a 480-high device in several years. This mobile company doesn’t support their apps. I re-purchased the American Heritage Dictionary (different dictionary but created by the same mobile company) three times in the last 5 years ($19-$35 per purchase) because they stopped supporting the app on the latest iOS version and instead released a completely new application. This venerable dictionary should not taint itself with this unethical mobile company.
