WORKS OFFLINE No data, cellular or even wireless network connection needed while touring. Download over Wi-Fi before you tour. Anyone can use them with no data charges – even visiting from another country. DRIVING TOUR ROUTE There are many highlights on this tour and these are just a few: * Bow Falls * Banff Gondola and Hot Springs * Cave and Basin * Lake Minnewanka * Mount Norquay * Vermilion Lakes * and many more spectacular sites The tour is a loop and you can join anywhere along the route. We recommend 1/2 to 1 day depending on how many stops you choose to make. CANADIAN ROCKIES GyPSy Guide Tours This tour is a part of a set of tour apps by GyPSy Guide to explore the Canadian Rockies National Parks. Other tours in the series include: * Banff, Lake Louise and Yoho National Park * The Icefields Parkway * Jasper National Park For BEST VALUE, you may prefer to download the Canadian Rockies GyPSy Guide which includes all of these too. If arriving through Calgary, enjoy the free introduction tour from Calgary to Banff *yes free!* NOTES Download the app on Wi-Fi from your network at home or use any free Wi-Fi network. Because the app is filled with audio commentary and maps, its larger than "normal" apps. Many phone/data networks may block the download because of size - so its important to download over a Wi-Fi network. ++ Continued use of GPS running in the background increases battery usage - we strongly recommend taking a cigarette style (DC outlet) car charger. This is much better than simply plugging into the USB port in a vehicle. ** iPad users - please note that WiFi-only iPads will not activate the commentary automatically. Any iPhone or network-capable iPad (WiFi + Cellular - whether you have a network connection or not) will work just fine. • Must have app

    By Smoken Camera
As others have said, this is a MUST have app while in the Canadian Rockies. It would have been a different trip without it. Not sure where to suggest to the developer, but if you could put an image with good weather. We just had a rainy drive in the 1st week of July. We heard to see “that mountain and at times could not see anything due to the weather. It would be a 10 star app to see some of them for the unlucky travelers like us. Again, fantastic job with your app. Amazing history, must do hikes/stops, and just enough talk to not take away from the trip. Great job!!!
  • Our own Personal Tour Guide

This app made our trip! We did little planning for our trip & we were told where spot were & if they were worth stopping at! They told fun facts history & added some jokes into it! Loved it!
  • Good app, narrator not as good on this one

    By Plekky
I downloaded the 4 pack for the Canadian Rockies. They are awesome. I gave 3 of them 5 stars. This one gets only 3. Still helpful but has a different narrator who isn’t personal, sounds like he’s reading a script, and just isn’t as enjoyable. Still worth it.
  • Like having a personal guide in your car!

    By AggieJill
I rarely take time to write reviews, but this app deserves it. I downloaded the Canadian Rockies 4-pack app, which included this one. We did very little planning for our trip. We basically got in the car in Banff and went where this app told us to go. The guide provides very interesting info while you are driving and at the stops. We definitely saw things that we wouldn't have noticed or bothered to stop at if just using a map. Love that it tracks us with GPS to give us info at just the right time and works without cell service. To top it off, the narrator is actually enjoyable to listen to and is like have a personal guide in your car (different narrator for the Banff Townsite app than for the other 3 but he was good also!).
  • Great Casual Driving Tour

    By Glaucdoc
Loved it! Don’t have to do anything once just press start. Drive where you want and it will tell you about nearby places, history, etc., and then will give optional turn directions if you want to be on a formal tour around Banff. Very easy to use and handy/helpful. Saw things/views i wouldn’t have even known were around, and parts of Banff and the surroundings that i would never have gone to.
  • Could not open it

    By Esa's iTunes pay
Wish it could open so we couldn't waste a day.
  • Get this app before you go

    By Yogisingh
Very well designed, excellent commentary with historical and anecdotal information. Glad I got the whole suite.
  • A must have

    By Zqueue
Not really a GPS, but tour guide. A must have one. It comes with tons of geographical and historical knowledge, and folklore. Maybe adding a few local jokes can make it perfect. I got the Canadian rockies package. Love 3/4 of them. Jasper one is not as much informative, and the voice sounds machine. Everything else works great. Will definitely buy other parks next time
  • We need more parks available!

    By Pat n Jerry
a friend turned me on to this app and I quickly learned why. Visiting Banff for the first time can be overwhelming, this guide gave us points of interest along the way and did a phenomenal job not only relating history of the area, geology but some animal biology as well. Must get if your driving yourself around in Banff, I ended up purchasing all of the Canadian Rockies. Just wish there were more!!!
  • Great app but with a bug

    By Cdigrutt
Great information. Clear and sequential. We were able to use it to navigate instead of using our car GPS. Had difficulty with audio connection at times. Would not start the audio when connected to the car system through an audio cable. Plusses far outweigh this glitch. Would highly recommend this app.
