I cannot delete or edit a route. Not user friendly explanation on how to set up a route is minimal and inaccurate. Don’t bother

Absolutely essential for hiking the Appalachian Trail And other Trails BUT YOU MUST HAVE VERIZON BECAUSE ATT SPRINT AND OTHER SERVICES ARE NOT I REPEAT NOT USUALLY AVAILABLE. If I had to choose Guthook versus AWOL’s Guide Book there is no contest when actually on the trail , AWOL’S book is better when you come into towns etc off the trail for laundry resupply places to stay and restaurants. I suggest a small battery supply but it is way more valuable than AWOL’s Guide Book on the Trail but I found both are great for the AT TRAIL.

Been using AWOLS guide for last 7 years and 850 miles but who's counting. Using this app almost feels like cheating. Simple to use and uncluttered from unnecessary details but much necessary detail with hiker current comments. Only what u really need to hike the AT. With the topo map and elevation u can pin point where u are and plan ur day. If u get lost with this tool maybe rethink backpacking as a hobby. Excellent job folks!

Great resource and very easy to use! I highly recommend this app. Really nice that the on/off toggle for GPS is right on the main screens in the app - a real battery saver!

Ryan and all at Atlas Guides, Folks had been daily asking me for a map of our trail complex here on Flagg Mountain. Flagg is the southern terminus of the Pinhoti Trail, the beginning of the Appalachian Mountain Range, a very popular place for day hikers and backpackers here in Alabama. As a member of the Alabama Hiking Trail Society, I serve as the official caretaker here for the Alabama Forestry Commission. Until your app became available, I had no way of helping folks hike the mountain. But that's all changed now, thanks to the Guthook Atlas Guides Pinhoti Trail app! Folks can quickly review our loop trails, choose how they'd like to spend a few hours--or a weekend. You've literally put us on the map, Ryan; thanks!

  • Guthook used to be a great app but is now unuseable

This used to be a great app. We used it extensively when hiking the Ice Age Trail. Now after loading it onto a new phone, it brings up a "Please Wait" message which never goes away. I uninstalled and re-installed twice. Same result. The app is completely unusable.
  • A near necessity.

Guthook has been doing amazing work for online guides longer than anyone and his product shows it. It’s not wise to solely rely on your phone, but if it is workin then Guthook will be there for you to finish your dream of a thru. Plus he has tons of guides, so once you’ve caught the bug, he’s still there for you! This is everything you need and extremely accurate.
