Description

This app is a CLIENT for the Blue Iris Windows PC software. In order to make use of this app, you must have Blue Iris version 4 installed and running on a Windows PC or VM. Instructions for connecting this app to the PC software are found in the Networking topic of its Help file. This app provides a single point of contact to your home camera network. There is no need to insecurely open individual cameras to the Internet. This app connects using a secure and session-based protocol--no passwords are transmitted in plain text. Remote access does require router configuration, which you can test without the app by using Safari. You should see your Blue Iris login page. Key features include: - Manage multiple Blue Iris installations - Geofencing: set status, send alerts, and more in response to device location * - Control the traffic signal icon, schedule and profile selection - Receive iOS push notification alerts when a Blue Iris camera is triggered or there is a critical status message - Fast H.264 streaming - Control PTZ, IR and more for any camera that’s also controllable at the Blue Iris PC - Listen to and talk to any camera that’s also supported at the Blue Iris PC - Navigate cameras by tapping and swiping - Review recordings as stored on the Blue Iris PC, up to 64x speed - Download recorded video from the Blue Iris PC to the iOS device - Selectively delete recordings from the Blue Iris PC - Broadcast live video from the iOS device directly into a Blue Iris PC camera window - Remote control DIO output signals on compatible devices - Baby monitor functionality: continue to listen to audio with app closed or device in standby ** * Note that continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. ** Note that continued use of audio streaming running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

App seems to be what I am looking for but I can't tell because it's not connecting and support isn't responding.

App is great. I use it along with HomeSeer and so far I’ve never had an issue in over 2 years
  • The last update broke outside connection

I forward port 9443 to the web server, after the last update the app stopped working from outside (it still works if I was inside the house). Every time I edit the connection and add :9443 at the end of the WAN address and save it, as soon as I hit Connect the app removes the port in the address (if you hit Edit you can see it has been removed). Fix it!
  • Still crashes constantly

iOS app crashes randomly all of the time, and resetting the alerts/counters is delayed, so I have to keep the app launched for awhile after clicking reset, or sometimes it’s just faster to close and relaunch the app to get the number of notifications to clear.

I’ve been using Blue Iris for many years. The developer has done a great job at progressively making the Blue Iris system better and better. The IOS client is rock solid and a great companion to the Blue Iris server. This is a developer that listens to customer feedback. If you need video surveillance you can’t go wrong with this system.
  • Great app. One suggestion

Great companion app for the official blue iris app. Just like the server itself, it is full of features. One request though is to make the preview photos bigger in the alerts/flagged section so I can just breeze through them. They are so small that I have to open most of them just to see what’s going on. Keep up the great work!
  • Solid application that could use professional UI designer

Blue Iris is a solid, feature rich application. It works FAR better than the expensive dealer installed NVR that I came from. My only complaint is that the application suffers from poor User Interface and Experience. With that professional touch, it could be better.
  • Great App!

Works pretty much flawlessly. My only complaint is the UI could use a refresh, something a bit more iOS like. I realize this is still a 1 man project (I think), so I understand not wasting time on the UI. However, I’d like to say that it is 100% formatted for the X, unlike some apps I have that still haven’t updated. I highly value this app. Keep up the good work.

This works great. I like all the features. Just one thing, need to put On-Off button for Camera on screen so I don’t have to go to Tools to turn On or Off.
