  • BEWARE: Bought 1 yr for $160 in Dec 2017 27 Page Fax Required I Pay $10 for more in credits

    By DjChadJohnson
I reached out to their support with screen shots. I got an email back confirming what I already knew. I had an active subscriuption with unlimited credits. That is what the application shows. I sent 1 page test to my doctor just to test it was working. It sent & delivered just fine. However, when I tried to send a 27 page fax of test results to my doctor & it would not send without purchasing $10 for 200 credits (smallest increment I could buy). It said I needed to buy 162 in credits to send. It said I tripped some Fair Use limit in their terms. Apparently there is a throttle on a single fax? The alternative I could come up with would have been to break apart the PDF into single PDFs for each 1-2 page test result. Which I would have to put a cover letter on EACH of those so the test results dont get mixed in with someone elses. Doing so would have likely DOUBLED the amount of pages I needed to send and who knows what clause I would hit at that point & how many credits I would have to buy. So instead of going to that trouble & gambling it would work… I bought the $10 in credits. I subscribed in Dec 2017. So I am days away from my renewal and I am definitely not doing the 1 year subscription again. If iFax had their system smart enough to look at the volume of the fax number & easily saw the extremely low volume of usage on this line. Therefore could easily have relaxed the rule on fair use. This seems rather deliberate that no matter how little you use and how much you pay… larger faxes are not welcome without paying more.
  • Good for the every day person

    By InsomniaNoir
I work from home and very rarely do I need to fax something. When I do need to, this app has been there for me.
  • Unable to tell if I sent a fax or not

    By vividchange
I have used an app before that "just worked." This one is not working. Website won't load. Contact Support won't load. I'm going to have to cancel my 7 Free Day Trial, hope that works better than the app.
  • Used to be great

The functionality was superb. Now, if I use the iOS version, I don’t have room to type anything over a scant few words into the comments section. So, I launch the desktop version. I now have room to type the info I need. However, I pay a monthly subscription for unlimited FAXes from the iOS version. Apparently, that subscription doesn’t carry over to using the app to FAX from the desktop. I guess I need to cancel my subscription, since I’ll have to be doing this from my desktop now. Rather frustrating.
  • So many problems

    1) Loses your fax history when they do an update. The history is still in a file in Library but they are unable to recover it. 2) 7-day free trial is a sneaky way to get you to overpay for the service. Even if you cancel, if you previously bought points, all of the points disappear so then you will need to arm wrestle Apple to get a refund. 3) Today, they sent a junk mail fax plugging the 7-day free trial again. You can try to delete this but — hey presto — you get an error message saying ain’t no file. So when they send you junk mail they make it undeletable. 4) Basically, greedy guys made a decent app unusable. Buggy and cheesy. Avoid.
  • Serious bug causes lost history

    By nobozo
Have used this for several years. For its intended use it works well. But, and it is a big but, twice now on update they have introduced bugs that cause sent fax history to disappear. In fact, the sent faxes are still buried in application support, but they don’t show up in the app anymore. Reply from the developer is not at all satisfactory: “… it is not possible to add the old faxes again in the application. The tech team has resolved this issue and you will not face this issue once the latest update is available online.” In other words, the app is fixed until they break it again, and once it is broken, you are out of luck! Update: Another bug! If you make the mistake of clicking on the 7 day free trial and then cancel the free subscription, any previously purchased points are lost. Now I have to arm wrestle Apple to try to get my money back!
  • Doesn't really work well

    By Wolf.Gilbert
When you first use this, the 7 days free trail makes you sign up for an auto renew at $25 per month! For someone like me that uses a fax once in a blue moon, just not worth it...would be fine signing up for a bucket of credits that renews every time it emptys, but not every month whether I use it or not. As soon as I tried it, it crashed. Second attempt was "sending" forever - I cancelled it after 15 minutes. 3rd attempt succeeded instantly??? Unlikely given how faxes work. There's no confirmation slip from the receiving fax, so now I have no idea if it was sent or not. Cancelled my subscription and will find an alternative. This might work for some, but I can't imagine anyone's ok with not really knowing if a fax was sent or not.
  • Auto subscribe rip off

    By marmots2
Service works, but if you are a casual user the cost will be a shock. If you don’t turn it off in 7 days , insanely expensive auto billing kicks in. SOftware makes shutting off service difficult (as of this moment STILL haven’t gotten it done). This is more like a functional virus than a legit program. Look at the ratings. People who must fax a lot and find it ok paying hundreds of dollars apparently like it. Almost all the other users hate it as it is designed to rip off the casual user. A company set up this way should be banned ( and for god sakes dont use it), whether the software works or not ( it does).
  • Credits Magicaly Disappear

    By Fran
On three occasions I purchased excess credits above what I needed to fax. Each time I end up with 0 credits. Why can’t they be carried over so I can fax again later instead of constantly being overcharged? The first time it happened I didn’t notice until after I bought more credits. Then I expected to have some left over since I only faxed a few pages. Nope, credits gone. The third time I paid particular attention and sure enough, poof, gone!. It’s like an app that steals money. The fax works fine, it’s just a rip off.
  • Was 5 stars--now 1 star

This app used to work great, but I’m taking it off my computer until they go back to their old billing method. Their credit scheme is cumbersome, confusing, and misleading. How much does an individual fax cost???? Go back to paying per fax!!!! As with other reviewers, I don’t trust their “free” 7 day offer where you have to do something complicated to quit. This is definitely NOT an app to use for occasional faxing. The developer answers negative reviews like this one with a boilerplate-like response saying to contact them, let’s see what they do with this one.
