  • Need More Info. About Privacy & Security

    By Joshua D.
I've just read through both the Burner Terms of Service and Privacy Policy on the official Burner website and I'm left not feeling very confident about my privacy and security needs using this service. Maybe I read too fast and missed it, it's possible. But I didn't learn near enough about how Burner maintains user privacy and security. For instance, when using this app/service, does Burner record and store every phone call you make and receive? If so, why? What safeguards are there to protect our real phone number from being sold or having it hacked and stolen? Does Burner have access to listening to users phone calls? I just want to know a whole lot more about what is stored, recorded, for how long and why and I would like that information explained in a non-leagalese manor please, thank you. Meaning I don't want to hear anything that the TOS or Privacy Policy lawyers would give. I'm just very concerned about my privacy and the privacy of the people I call and receive calls from if I decide to use this service. So many times today you hear about companies doing extremely unethical things with users data and their privacy and security. Or you hear about how companies are foolish and don't put enough security measures in place to protect the privacy of user's data and information and they are hacked into or something else bad. And, as I said, I just didn't feel I gleaned enough information reading through the PP and TOS to put my concerns at rest. So, if the developers wouldn't mind providing this important information I've mentioned, well I'd be very grateful, thank you and God bless.
  • Threatened Legal Action Against Me

    By Dater chick
I've never threatened anyone, or sent porn or ANYTHING! Used this app as a work phone and the company literally threatened legal action against me for no reason.
  • Did not serve my purpose

    By carlism
I have no issue with the cost. Happy to pay if it works. It seems the numbers are tied to a known carrier so that you can’t use them to get confirmation codes when signing up for email accounts. I was trying to be anonymous in donating some virtual goods for a good cause and couldn’t get an outlook account using this number.
  • Can’t be used with online numbers.

You can’t set up any burner number unless you use a “real” cell carrier number. So basically defeating the whole purpose of a burner phone, as a carrier number ostensibly, be easily linked to the account holder. For my purposes, I need a number in the States, but I’ve been out of the States for ages, and need a number at the moment. I have other established google voice numbers, but I need a clean one. I can’t even use this to link to a Google voice number, as its not a “real” carrier, like Verizon or sprint. Would be handy for simple random things, if I had a stateside carrier at the moment. Edit: Is there any particular reason, law, or technological hurdle, as to why you can’t use VOIP numbers like Google Voice?
  • Useless & Costly

    By Erinlayne
For privacy issues, to avoid using my personal need knee, I purchased several burners with subscription for the sole use of registering Gmail & LinkedIn profiles (which require a phone number to verify). Literally NONE of the Burner App numbers work for the intended purpose, and you don’t find that out until after purchase. A failed experiment; time and $$ I won’t get back. Thanks, Burner App! Update April 2018: Months after discontinuing my subscription and unlinking my PayPal account, the developer has continued to charge me for the subscription fee—this time, immediately after I had added a new credit card. Shady AF.
  • My burner number has been not working kept calling and emailing for help nothing

    Very bad service
  • Love it

    By Kevinissa
I tried several apps and all they did the work as expected, but this one really worked very well for me and was very easy to sign up without the hassle or collecting so much personal information like others, the free trial was amazing that’s why I got convinced that was I was looking for, MMS SMS worked perfect and that’s all what I needed.
  • Subscription is broken, can’t use what I paid for

    By AlexaShrugged
April 2018: I have an unlimited subscription but it’s telling me I’ve run out of credits and need to upgrade to be able to send more texts. When I try to upgrade it tells me I already have an unlimited subscription...so I’m stuck in a loop with no way to contact people! I bit the bullet and bought credits to tide me over until support gets back to me, but I’m limited to 170 texts and no picture messaging - ugh! I don’t know how long that will last me! Still no badge notifications either (see below) January 2018: This is getting ridiculous! For the last 8 month badge notifications weren’t working but now in the last 24 hours I haven’t received any notifications of any kind. And yes, I’ve checked that they’re on and that I’m not on DND. An app I pay $5 a month for shouldn’t have badge notifications problems, never mind notifications not working AT ALL!
  • Glitchy

    By Peter.skeeter
It hardly notified me of phone calls and text messages. Also spam messages are sent to your contact list which was annoying. Go to WhatsApp instead of this.
