  • App is a disgrace to the content

    Been a reader for 15 years and stood by for a few years of occasional bumps in the app, but whomever approved the design (?) and release of the latest revision of the app should seek a new profession. Just cancelled my subscription. No longer worth the frustration. Consider hiring professional designers and developers with talent that aligns with your writing staff.

    My wife and I have both enjoyed The Week for over 10 years, and I’ve used the iOS app since it was introduced. I just noticed the “Last Read Article” Link in the menu and assume it was added in a recent update. This isn’t the best solution, but at least I can get back to where I left off. It would be better if the app simply opened to that article, but I guess this is the best they could do.

    L/T digital subscriber. Won’t renew! Such a disappointment! Did you think I wouldn’t notice half the content for more money? Using larger type.....fewer articles......none of the quirky innovative stuff that really added to the style of the mag. Others are focused on the app. Not the problem unless you are distracting them from the absence of content! I was searching for a news mag when I found you....I’m searching again! So sad! BTW, the developer response is like the mag! Words with little real content! I already know you appreciate my’ve disrespected my ability to recognize what you’re selling.

    Every week I get an email that says “the new Week is in, ready to read!” I go to the app...latest edition is NEVER there. What’s up with that?

    Working much better since my last review. Still seems slow to load doesn’t keep my place when I leave the app and then reopen it.
  • I ❤️ “The Week”, but NOT the app

    It amazes me how apps make downgraded “upgrades”. The Week is usually a trend setter and ahead of the curve, but their app “upgrade” follows suit of being worse instead of improved. I can’t download until mid Friday, when I was getting it after 6pm on Thurs. I have to remove/reinstall the app to view each new edition. It is less user friendly & clunkier to manage. It does not connect to the dictionary. And, it is simply slower overall. I still ❤️ you “The Week”...just a little less. I have downgraded my review due to the reported “app upgrade” that displays no improvement. They need to trash the new app, go back to the old, & only re-introduce a new-new version after detailed account to what their customers are REPORTING as per the multitude of bad reviews.

    Great way to consume my favorite magazine. At first I had mixed reviews, as the app seems to be going through some growing pains, but the customer service is quick to respond to any inquiries/ complaints.
