    I’ve been using Headspace for a year now and have seen an improvement in many aspects of my life. I’m calmer, I have time/ability to pause before I respond to something and most of all I have tools and skills for when emotions/feelings overwhelm me. Andy has taught me how to observe these feelings, take them into context and allow the mind to feel them. He’s also taught me to find a sense of center/calm to come back to. To know they are just feelings and will come and go but who I am at my core will always be me. I am not the feelings that come and go like leaves on the wind. I love the guided packs and they have moved my meditation to new levels and learnings. I also like the sleep sounds when I can’t fall asleep at night. Highly recommend this app for anyone wanting to learn more about meditation, whether you are a beginner or more experienced.

    At first I thought meditation was a bit woo woo, but had been hearing good things about it, so decided to give it a try. I didn’t quite get how just “breathing” was going to do anything! Well, how wrong I was! It’s been a couple of years now, and the skills I’m learning have made a profound difference in my life. I used to be at mercy to every passing thought...grasping after the positive and running away from distressing thoughts. The idea of being mindful was completely foreign to me. Then slowly I began working with the Headspace App...in private and in my own timing...and slowly I began to learn very simple, but powerful techniques that have been profound in my life. Noting, neutral thinking, visualization, body scans, acknowledging feelings while not identifying with them...useful techniques I’ve learned that have led to mental strength and toughness. The more I practice the stronger I become. I liken it to the exercises we do with our bodies to build physical strength and toughness. We all know that by doing specific techniques such as jumping jacks, push ups, burpees and squats we build physical strength. So it is with the Headspace App, it has specific meditations that instruct and has the meditator practice skills that build mental and emotional strength. It doesn’t hurt that Andy has such a kind, supportive voice and lovely English accent, either! 😊 No pressure...ever. Kind of like a really good friend.

    — and i’m loving this 10-day basic introduction series. just wanted to let you know. if i stick with it, i’ll come back and write more. or i may be so chill that i’ll think my opinion shouldn’t matter because everyone has their own experience, and i won’t write more. either way — the intro meditations have been wonderful.

    I am a completely different person now than I was when I began meditating. The guided meditations are insightful and with so many categories there are many aspects of your life that can be changed for the better. The runs are great too 🙂

    The shifting of focus from sounds, body to breath works for me. It is difficult to reign in on my own and this app is a great asset to those who need a little help either beginning meditators or stressed in the moment peeps.
