    I am frustrated
  • Would be better if the app could access the time

The app is telling me right now that the moon is below the horizon and won’t rise until 6:03pm. Which is hilarious because it is currently 6:25pm and I can see the moon just fine. I set all permissions. It should easily know what time it is. I have no idea what time it THINKS it is because there is no clock to fix or set. It does know my location, so you think it could figure the time out. Astronomy without accurate time is ludicrous. I guess I get to explore the recent past, but that’s about it. Maybe it’s a trick and you have to pay for that “feature,” but I’m not about to give them money if this feature is suspect. Deleting.

I purchased this app almost three years ago for either 3 or 4 bucks. I used it much that summer then sparingly after that. The app has changed; it has become "free" the functionality that I remember is now a subscription. I remember being annoyed that the price dropped to .99 after I purchased it. (Many Devs use to do this as some form of marketing.) However, it was such a fun app that I got over it. I know this was an attempt to generate revenue and I wanted the app to succeed. That said, some devs are now switching over to a subscription model and eliminating their "lite" "free" version or going freemium. I digress. I would rather they simply made a new version. Over, PicLab/DesignLab and many others are doing this.. Even VSCO... frustrating.. I don't use this app enough for a subscription.

I used to love this app but lately find I no longer use it. Far too many distractions with requests for camera access, notifications and paying for premium features. Too much emphasis on paying for optional stuff. Constant interruptions. I guess the objective is to get you to buy just to get rid of the annoyances. Not a good enough reason for me, Night Sky is what I’m getting rid of. Probably the most annoying aspect of the app is it’s poor (dreadful) organization. If you don’t want to pay to play the next notice is a recommendation to turn off some functionality. Finding any setting to turn off such functionality has so far eluded me. The app is like a home that’s been added onto too often and patched together with no thought given to getting around within it. A poor reflection on the developer.
  • Decent app but camera still broken

I like this app because the free version is still very functional, but the video mode in astrophotography setting has crashed the app on my iPhone X every single time I’ve tried to use it for at least 6 months now. It used to work - and they keep releasing updates so I was hoping since the most recent update addressed camera stuff that they would have fixed the iPhone X too, but nope, still crashes 100% of the time.
  • A little improvement to be the best.

This app is no doubt a great app. I loved it from the very beginning. It helps me to explore the sky in a very easy way. But the only problem I have faced that my iPhone overheats if I use the app more than 5/6minutes. I hope that problem will be removed very soon. 😌

  • Does Not Honor Notification Preferences

I set almost all of the notifications to off, and yet I’m still getting pushes for stuff I don’t want. I double checked and they are set to off. This is already a borderline scammy/pushy app, and this behavior shows they don’t care about their users as long as they make a buck.
