A Manual of Acupuncture – The Definitive App for Students & Practitioners This is the latest mobile app (iPhone/iPad/iPod) version of the foremost points textbook in the Western world - A Manual of Acupuncture by Peter Deadman & Mazin Al-Khafaji, with Kevin Baker. We hope that you will enjoy the following features: • Every channel and extraordinary point from A Manual of Acupuncture textbook. • English and Chinese point names, point category, classification, location and location notes, illustration, needling instructions and cautions, actions, clinical application and combinations. • Each point includes Chinese tones, printed Chinese characters and calligraphy as well as audio of the Chinese pronunciation (by tapping the calligraphy). • Videos for every point with commentary showing location and needling technique. • Illustrations for all primary, luo-connecting, divergent and sinew channels, the eight extraordinary vessels and the body area illustrations. • All the main point categories (e.g. five shu points, xi-cleft points, back-shu points) for easy revision. • Create your own point groups which you can use to tailor study and reference. • Multiple Choice tests so you can test yourself on all points and point categories as well as self-created point groups. • All points listed anywhere in the App are live links allowing easy browsing/reference. • You can add your own notes to channel pathways and any specific aspect of points (e.g. location, location note, needling, etc) as well as the Point Location & Needling pages in the reference section. • Two search functions. One simply searches point name (English or pinyin) or point number. The other allows you to search the content of every point and, if you wish, specify which channel/vessel you want to search within, which field within a point (e.g. Actions, Clinical application, Needling) and whether you want to include your own notes in the search. • The 12 Cutaneous Regions and Areas Reached by the Channels. • Reference pages including: cun measurements, location and needling guidelines, indications index, glossary of terms • Registered users have the additional benefits of selecting whether to show or hide their notes within the App content, how many points to include in their tests and whether videos play continuously or individually. You can also backup your user data (notes, point groups and tests results) to our server - which means if you lose or break your device you can restore your data to a new one, and, if you have the App on more than one device you can synchronise your data to all your devices.

  • App not working

Hi I bought this app a year ago and until about last week it worked fine. Can someone please help me get this app to work again on my phone ASAP?
  • Great app besides the Tests

The app has great information and graphics. My one complaint is that the Tests feature is not usable on an ipad pro. The question covers the picture so you cannot actually see what point they are asking about. Also it would be nice if they added the point commentary because that is very helpful in learning the context and history of the point, and one thing that is great about Deadman

great information and easily accessible, SOMETIMES. App freezes when swiping from point to point. My point categories doesn’t work and 12 cutaneous regions does not work on any of my 3 ipads but works on my phone. I’ve had the app for a year and now gained access that part. the videos are helpful but I ended up downloading TCM clinic aid HD for ipad because it has a much better quiz feature plus herbs. I would download it again if I had to at a lower price since several of the features do not work for MANY users.
  • Not working properly

I also have no sound on the videos. It is not a device or operator error! There is no sound!!
  • Some good things, some... could be improved

The easy access and videos are great! But I have issues with the point groups you can create for yourself. Whenever I open one the app freezes, so I can’t even tell what you’re supposed to be able to do with those. It would be fantastic, however, if you could take quizzes from those point pools or at least access the point info by selecting it in the point group list.
  • Was good, now nothing works

This app was great two years ago, then things got progressively worse. First the app stopped working after their update, then it would work intermittently so you have a 50-50 percent chance of it working, and when it works, it lags. Then, the worst part is, the point groups that you can set up to review specific point functions stopped working, you can go in and select the points and add them to a group still, but you will not be able to access the group, which is a complete waste of time since it takes a while for you to group things. I am so disappointed in this app, for an app priced at this margin, it should work!
  • Not worth the price

Videos on how to needle are very helpful, good app for reviewing points (nothing about herbs here). However, app freezes often and some selections will always freeze the app, so I just avoid these selections altogether. No auricular points. For the price, app should function without these glitches and include auricular points.
  • good information, garbage app

I have a new ipad and this app worked alright for the first couple of months. However I haven’t been able to open it in weeks (it crashes immediately), so I have moved on to other more reliable resources. (TCM Clinic Aid or Acu Pro are a fraction of the price, offer more features, and do not crash) The company has not responded when I’ve requested help or a refund. Again, Deadman’s information is good, but it’s 2018 and these folks can’t even manage to maintain an app that has minimal functions and just needs to reliably display text.
  • What’s ‘app-ening⁉️

This once fantastic resource for students as well as practitioners is declining as it seems they are unable to keep up with the updates for the new iPhone software. The “my points” list used to be a fantastic way to preserve and use as a quick study/reference, and now it just freezes the app up and forces you to close the entire app and reopen it. Or you could just go to and use The TCM Clinic Guide🤔 Hey guys, how about getting things fixed or start refunding❓ Let’s make this app great again. 🤪
  • Technical errors keep this from being great

No video sound, no smooth swiping between points
