    I have been subscribing customer to the digital edition of the Chicago Tribune for over two years now. I used their app as one of my primary sources for local news until recently. As of the past few weeks their app has become nonfunctional. It’s current state, you can see the headlines but when you click on them the stories never load. Everything I’ve tried you twice all the issues and successful and still not able to read any news on app. I plan on discontinuing my subscription and would caution you from wasting your money as well.

    One of the worst apps I’ve ever came across and I’ve used many. Most times, the app doesn’t even pull up the article. It just freezes. And doesn’t move. This has been happening for years now. It boggles my mind that they haven’t found a fix for this glaring bug.

    For months now, after clicking on links to articles they simply do... not... load. It’s hard to predict when this might happen but it does about 50% of the time I want to read an article. This is the most basic level of functionality for a newspaper app and it’s appalling the app developers have not fixed it.

    Let’s see if you pay the slightest attention to your subscribers’ complaints. I’ve been paying for the physical Tribune for more than 30 years, and getting the digital version pretty much as long as it’s been available. I’m either dedicated or stupid - probably both. But your terrible app is pushing me to the brink. No matter how many times I “register“ for the digital version or “log in,” your app manages to forget and forces me to re-log in each time I open the app for the electronic version of the Trib, which is pretty much every morning. As life-problems go, I’ll admit this is pretty minor league. As a tipping point annoyance though, you’re pushing your luck at a time when you need to be hanging on to the few subscribers you’ve got left. So fix this one (or, more likely, don’t) and either way, I’ll let your followers and detractors know. BTW, If you want to see what a good newspaper app looks like, check out the New York Times. Update 3/20/19 Kudos to the Trib. While, at least as far as I know, they haven’t fixed the app, after I complained directly to the Trib, they started sending me a daily email with a link to the e-newspaper. And it performs perfectly. Easy enlargement, ability to clip and print individual stories, and for me at least, no need to re-register or login every day. I’m back to being a loyal subscriber.

    Have to sign on each time why? I pay to now have ads pop up when I turn pages this is unacceptable and it’s time to cancel.

    We pay for a subscription to this and yet whenever I click on a story to read, I get a loading screen and a frozen app that has to be force closed. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app only to have the same issue. Deserves 0 stars.

    As one can only view about half the news stories (clicking on the other half makes the app lock up and requires a re-start), may I pay half of the subscription price?

    Hard to believe such a major paper has such a minor league app. Can see the headlines but rarely can I read the article. So if you like staring at Gray, blank screens this is the app for you..
