Care is definitely not well structured and if you are looking for a better website, I suggest you go with URBANSITTER instead. On care, there is no way for caregivers to hide Jobs that are not a great fit for them maybe because the rate is too cheap like $10/hr or the location is far away. And when you express an interest in a job by mistake there is no way to go back and withdraw from it. You gotta Pay for background Check $40 and also for your profile to be on a top search form parents which is $20/mo I have done all of those with a VIP profile but still rarely I will get booked by parents. Most of them don’t have a profile picture and the number of kids says 0. Some parents just want you to give them your phone number or address without even sending you an in person interview/phone interview request, no discussion about the rate. And if you nicely decline, they will give you a 1 star review which is ridiculous because you never worked for them not a single day. Care should definitely do something about this. And I believe that parents should have a great profile and send a booking or interview request before asking for personal information which can be a scam since parents dont have a background check on their profile. Also, some parents will not disclose that they have a special need kid until you just go there and find that the job is actually too much to handle. I wish they could be honest about it. Definitely go with URBANSITTER! At least there, parents can get away from the monthly payment by just booking sitters on there one time pass and even if the pass expires, they can still book those previous sitters at no additional cost!

Care.com is very useful and efficient way of finding a provider. It is cost-effective and safe. I appreciate them because they have been a life-saver for allowing me to find help in my time of need when there is an emergency or if I just need a full-time nanny. I thank God for this company and the app makes it very easy to navigate.

I love Care. When we moved to NV, I started working full time again. I have always been with my son until his 7th grade year. I found my helper on this site. She was very reliable. She provided transportation for my son, hung out to make sure he was good in the house, got him something to eat and left. It worked perfect for us because we knew he was safe at home! I am now looking for a tutor on here and know I will find someone reliable again. Takes the ease out of trying to find someone to provide care for my precious son :)

After using Care.com seven years I’m out. I reported parents to Social Services for beating their kids! Right! The parents were mad at me. They called CRe.com and said something????? I was tossed out and can never know what was said or defend myself. I made Care.com a lot of money, but that doesn’t matter to me. I was told by care.com representative “You should have never told anyone they beat their kids.”

Less and Less Privacy. They Post your age on your Profile which is Invasive and Rude! and now they want you to give your Social Security Number and your Personal Information just to Babysit! You also have to pay a fee or care.com makes it so the parents you put Applications to can’t answer you. The site itself is becoming more and more invasive. Making it harder and harder to be a babysitter and make money. Not all of us can afford the memberships. 😐
  • Do I need to be 18 to sign up and baby sit?

Hello. So my name is Francisco, I’m 16. I was wondering if I needed to be 18 to sign up and babysit? I have brothers and sisters of my own and I would love to babysit. I’ve seen videos about it and just taking care of my brothers is fun. They’re older now but I still take care of my sister. Is there a way I can still babysit at this age? Can my parents sign me up?

I contacted 25 - 30 caregivers in a month and a half & wasn’t able to hire a single person. I was ready to hire several & then they either didn’t show up for the job (costing me missed work & more lost money). Several didn’t show up for the interview. Complete waste of time & money. If you want to spend hours & hours creating detailed job posts, spend hours & hours messaging people who are unavailable, no longer looking for a job, or who simply don’t respond, if you want to set aside time in your day for interviews that people won’t show up too...use Care.com!
