    Epicurious is impossible to navigate.
  • Soooo buggy—-AGAIN!

    By ChiggerMom
I’ve used this app for many years and have had intermittent problems with crashing (and other issues with the Search function) that EVENTUALLY are fixed; however this time I’ve not been able to use the app literally for months—prior to and through the entire holiday season—and am just about to give up and go elsewhere. Come on, Condé Nast; if you’re not going to keep the app functional, then Let It Go!
  • Baked Beef Meatballs ... YUM!

    By Birdwoman22
Something I had wanted to try for some time and I finally just did it! The recipe is an excellent foundation and the result gratifying. Melt in your mouth meatballs and ease of being for our visiting little family’s Sunday dinner. I adjust a bit because I was unsure if the jarred marinara sauce I was also trying for the first time would yield enough rich flavor. So I tossed some dried basil and thyme into the meat mixture along with S and P. This is now a family favorite and I look forward to trying the recipe wise ground turkey thigh meat and sausage.
  • So discouraging

UPDATED 1/13/19: Still crashing. Still useless. No updates for two months. Epicurious apparently doesn’t care about users. UPDATED 11/12/18: This app, which had been essential to me, has become frustrating. It freezes and/or crashes every time I try to use it. Developers don’t respond to pleas for help. The app will work again for a day or two, raising my hopes, and then fail again. I have literally thousands of recipes saved in the app, and the idea of having to start over is extremely discouraging. Please, developers, do something to fix this situation. Thanksgiving is less than two weeks away! PREVIOUS REVIEW: Before this app, I didn't cook. It's changed my life and showed me that good cooking doesn't have to be complicated or difficult. Two quibbles: first, it would be great if recipes in the Recipe Box could be organized by category (breakfast, picnics, etc.). That option is available on another recipe app I use, and it's extremely helpful. Second, I agree that the reviews are an essential part of the app. But I can't figure out how to post a review myself. Including instructions would be helpful.
  • My go-to cookbook

Love getting recipe suggestions via email and/or browsing the app for good ideas. Have never been disappointed. Some of my favs are the chili con carne recipe, Texas chocolate cake and pasta with vodka sauce. Have been collecting recipes for several years and share with family and friends.
  • Love the recipes

I love the recipes that come from Epicurious. They are well written and easy to follow. The functionality of finding a recipe and creating a shopping list is great too. I find the reviews and rating system useful as well. The reason I give the app only three stars is because the search function is so bad. It has no intuitiveness so to find a recipe you have to use the exact name of the recipe (which I can never remember). Even searching the primary ingredients doesn’t necessarily yield the results it should. Many times I end up backing out and going to google which will find the recipe ON EPICURIOUS! You’ve got to fix that feature.
  • Constantly crashes

No point in having n app if it doesn’t work!
  • Won’t let me reset password

    By DelBttrfly
I know years ago I loved this app but then they reset the way you log in and I’ve never been able to log in since. Years ago I sent an email about the bug. It didn’t get fixed. They send me a link to the home page but not to a reset password page. Tried again just now and it’s the same issue. I don’t love the app so much as to set up a new email account just to have an epicurious account! I will revisit the next time the mood strikes and I try again.
  • Who Designed the Search Feature?

    By Macchimommy
The search engine is TERRIBLE. Put an “s” on the end of “Pepper” and it can’t find the recipe. Leave out a hyphen (e.g., “Chocolate Peppermint” instead of “Chocolate-Peppermint“) and it can’t find the recipe!! What good is a search if you can’t remember the exact title of the recipe??? 😡
  • Please fix the app

It shuts off within seconds of opening.
