  • Downgrade of an update

    By Jadedgazelle
Update: I emailed a support request to TWC about the upgrade not recognizing my ad-free purchase. It’s been more than 72 hours and no reply. Infuriating! I wish I knew the best alternative weather app to recommend. It used to be Weather Underground, but TWC has recently “upgraded” that app as well. Original: The latest version is in essence a major downgrade. For one thing, it caused the app to forget that I’ve already paid to remove ads. When I try to restore purchases, it pops up that there is nothing to restore. When I try to buy it again just to see if it will allow me to, iTunes warns that I have already purchased it and if I do so again, it will only extend the current subscription. The ads are so intrusive and resource heavy now that they cause the app to frequently stall or freeze, and sometimes even crash. Maybe this is also partly due to the other resource heavy content they put on the app like the ridiculous amount of video content. The Weather Channel organization has irritated me for many years with its blatant weather news sensationalism, but I continued to use the app because it used to be fairly decent and reliable. Not so much with the new app overhaul that came out a couple of weeks ago. And now that they have taken over and overhauled the Weather Underground apps as well, these too are much less than what they once were.
  • Just the weather

I dislike having to scroll through videos, maps, ads, etc. to get to the REASON I have the app: the weather forecast.
  • Forecasts I’d expect from the pre-installed weather app

    By CDB design
This app use to be fairly reliable for the hours forecast. That isn’t the case anymore since the weather channel started focusing more on drama than weather. Decent radar, but still would not recommend.
  • Just ok

I like the fact that I can look at various cities’ weather at the same time, however not super happy I can’t just swipe left or right to see those cities. This is the only reason i keep this app. Also, REALLY dislike that I have shut off notifications multiple times, yet they somehow always get turned back on and I get random weather updates of non-important things, like when the rain is going to start. If this continues, I’m deleting the app.
  • Very disappointed

The version that is going away in two days is much more user-friendly. With this app, I can’t switch from one saved location to another without going back to the home screen. I loved the ability to simply swipe sideways to move between locations. It was also faster and easier to look at detailed information about the forecast for a specific day. All things considered, the user interface was more intuitive and friendlier. It seems unlikely that the changes were based on user preferences or requests - I just can’t see any user asking “Can you please make it harder to use?” And, to top it off, It appears I won’t even have the option to continue using the other version. Now I’ll have to start looking at competitors to find a friendlier option. Update: I wish I could take away the one star. I have several locations saved and have always kept them in a specific order. While this version still allows you to change the order of your saved locations, it doesn’t save the changes. What’s the point in allowing manual sorting if it’s not going to be saved? Another update: None of the above issues have been addressed so there’s no change to my rating, but I would like to know where your many weather apps get their data. I’m using an iPad, my daughter is using an iPhone and a friend is using an Android phone - all three are using a Weather app from TWC - but, none of the three forecasts match. I thought each of the Weather Channel apps would get their data from the Weather Channel. Obviously I was mistaken since they’re all different. They don’t have the same forecast high temperature, wind speeds or chance of precipitation. Maybe, by making them all different, you’re hoping at least one will be accurate.
  • I would like too

I would like to write a review if I could open the app
  • absolutely no support from the weather

    By Tcbmail
no support from the weather channel team. this used to be my go to weather app,, but no longer due to absolutely no support on why the app no longer runs properly. i have to keep it deleted or put up with constant daily update notifications.
  • Unable to set locations for alerts

    By Longhaul444
Setting alerts needs locations, locations are greyed out and not selectable. Nothing I do changes this.
  • Sorry but ...

This app that replaces the Storm App, just doesnt’ cut it. There were so many features, such as the NWS discussion, more daily weather narrative, and les graphical dependency than this piece of crap you are replacing things with. You had something good, why did you get rid of it? I go direct to NWS to get what I need. You could continue to package something better than they...
  • Daily precipitation notification

    By guydawg
“Location” field is null and cannot otherwise be populated. All settings to do so are correct on my end. Fix or deleting the app for another weather app. Also, expand time range of notification to include all possible times and not just 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, & 10am.
