  • Calorie database is not correct and messed up

I am not sure why bar codes scan incorrectly with regards to the calories per serving. Also there are a lot of errors in it. Lifesum is otherwise a good app, but someone needs to clean up and monitor the database of food.
  • Useful only if you pay

Don’t get this app unless you’re willing to take cash out of your pocket just to get a suggested meal plan from a test. Some other person here wrote a similar review and I couldn’t agree more. I deleted the app right away and downloaded it again just to write this review because I don’t recommend it unless you really want to pay for it. I don’t think you’re gonna get many people wanna download this app if you’re asking for them to pay for something for a suggested meal plan. You’re better of getting more people to want to use your app if you earn money through ads because this just seems like a rip off.
  • Visually appealing but lacks accuracy

I bought the premium without trying the app first, my mistake! - pages are clean - dashboard for log is easy to use Major downsides: 1) I didn’t trust the nutritional data. Black coffee - 4 net carbs? Really There were some other oddities I can’t remember. 2) I’m big on tracking before my meal so I can adjust what I’m eating to make my carb/calorie targets. In this one, you have to add everything and to see where you are going to land. 3) recipe building - I have no idea what they were asking me for. You should be able to add ingredients to one recipes and then plug in the servings. If this app has this capability, I could never find it. 4) too many daily calories! As my goal was to loose weight, I was surprised that my starting calorie allowance was above 1.6K. After taking a long, lazy walk it added another 800 calories for the day. Did not align with what I was expecting. 5) very limited recipes. That also surprised me. I have moved to a free version of something else. It isn’t as visually appealing but is very intuitive and was able to manage my own goals better. And have started losing weight again. Their recommendation for daily calorie consumption is under 1.3K.
  • If you’re counting carbs or care about accuracy at all, skip this app!

TLDR: bought the premium app at 50 percent off since the user face is so beautiful (that’s my one star). If you’re looking for any sort of accuracy in the recorded nutritional content, you're best using a different app like My Fitness Plan, Senza, etc. So utterly disappointed that nearly every barcode scanned calculates the wrong information. I can accept some errors here and there since the data could be user submitted, but holy hell, how many things could be so far from what the nutritional content is for mainstream products like Fage yogurt cups. 17 carbs in 5 ounces of yogurt? Can your app even read?!
  • Incredibly easy and effective

I’m a 29 year old female. I started logging with Lifesum on January 8. It’s February 20, just less than two months later, and this morning marked the 19th pound I’ve lost. Seriously - JUST LOGGING. I scheduled my ideal weight (140) and put my current (169) and set it to classic dieting which sounds limiting but is just being aware of your calories. When I reach the calories for the meal, I stop. It’s almost over-simple. I can’t believe I’m losing weight like this, and I haven’t worked out even once so imagine what would happen if I did. Lifesum is my favorite tool for counting calories and weight loss!
  • Doesn’t work anymore

I really liked this app and I even bought the premium version before 1 week. But since a few days I have problems with the app. At first I couldn’t log in and they said that my account doesn’t exist. I created a new account and now I can’t use the premium version anymore. When I want to buy it they say that I already have the premium for one year but then I still just have the basic account.
  • Where’s the planned meals?

I paid for the premium. Selected the diet plan. Went into the meal plans and can only see the first day. Can’t see any of the consecutive days and don’t see where I can create a shopping list for the week. Disappointed. Beginning to think I wasted my money.

This app keeps crashing on me. Every time I try to see the meals, a blank screen comes up.
  • Update deleted account?

Ever since the update, my account seems to have disappeared. I originally signed up through Facebook several months ago. But now when I try to log in using Facebook, it won’t let me because my Facebook doesn’t have an email. I even added an email to my Facebook account just to use Lifesum, but it said there was no account registered under that Facebook! I’ve enjoyed using Lifesum for the past several months, but am extremely disappointed that my account seems to have disappeared.
