There are 180+ audio points that play automatically along the scenic drive, featuring the best things to see and do, stories, tips and driving directions. All the most popular driving routes are included in the tour. Professional tour guides share advice on how to prioritize your time at recommended “not to be missed” viewpoints, suggested side-trips and places of interest. Tours are filled with entertaining stories to provide a deeper understanding of the region. Tours work offline, using free GPS signal and location services, so no data roaming, network, or WiFi is required while touring. Visit for route maps, sample commentary and tips & advice. It’s Just Like Having a Tour Guide in Your Car™ WHAT TO EXPECT: Enjoy commentary through all the best-loved parts of the National Park. Whether we are exploring the magnificent elevated viewpoints along Newfound Gap Road or the historic and scenic drive of Cades Cove and Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail, the tour will make sure you hear about all the best places to see and stop, so you won't miss a thing. Newfound Gap Road connects the bustling town of Gatlinburg, TN to Cherokee, NC. Along the drive there are many stunning viewpoints and opportunities to see the famous smoky effect as clouds and fog rise from the valleys. Along this drive, we visit Clingmans Dome, the highest peak in the park and even take the walk onto the elevated tower from which 7 states can be seen on a clear day. Cades Cove sits in an idyllic setting, that attracted the Native American people and then the first of the European settlers. On this drive we will enjoy superb scenery and visit historic cabins, churches, barns and mills. And be on the lookout to spot some of the Great Smoky Mountain's black bear population, as well as deer, elk and even wild turkeys. Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail leaves right from downtown Gatlinburg but quickly becomes a stunning, peaceful forested drive, with a couple hours worth of scenic views and old cabins and barns, and some of the Great Smoky Mountains best waterfalls. The commentary highlights all of the best viewpoints and has information on many of the popular hiking trails you may choose to explore. And the region has a rich collection of stories of characters who framed the history, the native Americans who came before them, as well as providing background of the amazing natural wonders. WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Some of the highlights along the route include; • Clingmans Dome • Newfound Gap • Cades Cove • Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail • Laurel Falls • Morton Tunnel • Cable Mill • The Sinks • John Oliver Place • Chimney Tops • Mingus Mill • Gatlinburg • Cherokee • And many more scenic lookouts and photo opportunities BATTERY USAGE: ++ Continued use of GPS/Location Services in the background increases battery usage. We strongly recommend taking a cigarette style (DC outlet) car charger. Avoid using a direct connection to the USB port of a rental vehicle. DOWNLOADING: The apps are larger in size in order to work offline. You must be on wifi to download as the store may block the download over cellular networks. • Excellent Smoky Mountain Guide

    By SmokeyTrvlr
Joey (as we called our guide) was amazing!!! We only had time for three of the four driving guides and they were all spot on, accurate and straight out funny!! Looking forward to bringing Gypsy/‘Joey’ with us on our next road trip.
  • Worth every penny!

We have driven through the park many times but this last week we used the guide and it was the best trip yet. Very informative and helpful!
  • We call him Phil

    By Sea level Jo
This was our second gyPSy guide , the first was the Rocky Mountains National Park two months ago. “Phil” adds so much to the experience of being in the RMNP and now of course the Smokies. Can’t recommend these apps enough!
  • Awesome App!

A must have for anyone on a trip to Great Smoky Mountains. Not only great advice on what to see and what to look for, but great commentary on the geology and history. Our family loved listening to Ranger Dan (we named him) as we drove. Worth every cent. So glad we purchased!
  • Perfect road trip companion

I’m so glad we decided to download this app before our Great Smoky Mountain vacation! The app helped us decide which stops to make along the way as well as giving driving directions and providing us with colorful and fascinating stories. We would have missed many beautiful sites along the way without it. Will definitely be checking back to see what other road trip apps gypsy guides add in the future
  • Fabulous app

We used the app on a tour of The Great Smoky National Park. The app added insight and in depth knowledge of the park that we would never have known with out using the app.
  • Great travel app

We look forward to our annual trip to the Smoky mountains every year. This app enhanced that experience so much. We enjoyed the historical information, and it kept our kids engaged and interested. Can’t wait to use it again!

I love Gypsy guides. This is my 2nd time using and it’s not disappointed either time. Easy to use. Informative and entertaining.
  • Great guide

This is my first five-star rating for an app. We used it all day to go around the national park, and it would recommend stops along the way. It’s easy to use and the voice is very clear. The narrator/guide is humorous, helpful and interesting. I’m glad we had the app.
  • Great tour!

We’ve used GyPSy Guide tours in other parks and this one was every bit as god as those. We would ya e missed so many great places if we didn’t have it! The stories and history just make everything seem so much more interesting. We highly recommend this!
