Description

Envision is the fastest, most reliable and up-to-date app that verbally translates the visual world into spoken words, helping blind and visually impaired people to lead more independent lives. Using the iPhone camera, smart artificial intelligence and OCR, Envision is designed and tested with input and support from the visually impaired community. The app is simple, it Gets Things Done and brings the best assistive experience to blind and low vision users. With full VoiceOver support, Envision allows you to: • Instantly read texts in over 60 different languages. Fully available offline for Latin-based languages like English. • Easily scan your paper documents (single or multiple pages) with the help of audio-guided edge detection. All content is spoken back to you and is ready for export and edit. • Quickly read handwritten postcards, letters, lists and other paperwork written in neat handwriting. • Effortlessly describe visual scenes around you - simply take a picture of it. • Detect colours on your clothes, walls, books, you name it. • Swiftly scan barcodes to get more information about the products you use and consume. • Find people around you; The names of your family and friends are spoken out whenever they are in the frame. • Find objects around you; selecting common objects from the in-app list. • Share images or documents from your phone or other apps like Twitter or WhatsApp by selecting Envision from the share sheet, to get a description of the image and recognition of all the text within it. _____________________ USERS ARE SAYING GREAT THINGS ABOUT THE APP "This has been my go-to app for the last few weeks because of its accuracy in reading text. • Cannot opt out of 14 day free trial

When I install an app, I want to be given a choice whether and when to start a limited time free trial, and for contact info to be easily accessible without requesting a call back. None of this was able to happen. As soon as I set up, my 14 day free trial was under way with no way to stop it. That kind of aggressiveness earns a spot on my permanent ban list. In that area Envision AI has succeeded. Be careful when installing if you are not quite ready. Your countdown begins immediately. In my world, not good business practice.
  • Was Great Now Useless

I purchased this app a few months back after trying it for a month and really liked it. However, Within the past month, the changes made have made the app useless. It no longer says what edges aren't visible so that I can move it in the correct direction to get the full image. Secondly, the text is now not viewable by flicking through the screen. You have to wait for it to read it, so getting instructions off a box for cooking is tedious. I didn't checkto see if it would read word by word, but who wants to do that when trying to Prepare something?Thirdly, when I went to stop my auto payment, the options of subscriptions are not read. I had to click on one of the unread items and then since I happened to click on the one I already subscribed too, it mentioned this fact and other info. I was then able to click the manage button and successfully unsubscribe. Until this app improves, I will not reccommend it to anyone. I was using IOS 12 last month and IOS 13 in the past few days, IOS isn't the issue. I'm using an iphone 8 and have been for the past couple years. I hope you improve this app back to one that is as good or even better than the one I used when purchasing the subscription.
  • Feature suggestion

I would like to say thank you for an amazing application which has helped me tremendously in my daily life. I have an idea for a feature though. I really love the facial recognition feature. It would be nice if we could label photos of popular and influential celebrities and be able to identify them while scrolling threw photos. If we could teach the app to automatically recognize faces in photos, the blind could better be able to identify and organize photo albums on their devices resulting in more independence and a more personalized camera role. It would be really beneficial if we could import photos rather than having to snap pictures for facial recognition. Privacy is important so perhaps importing photos for facial recognition could be limited to well known persons if the individual isn't nearby to give their permition to be recognized by the app. Please consider my request.

Thank you for this great app. It's even better than seeing AI. Keep up your great job. It reads the computer screen very well, very useful to us when there's no screen reader available. It would be great to make the app detect the item or the option under the curser. It will be great to control which languages it should read. Sometimes it reads languages other than the language displayed. i.e. it fails to recognize the correct language. It is great that it recognizes Arabic, but the quality needs to improve more and more, because sometimes the text is clear but the app fails to recognize the correct letter.
  • better than seeing ai

unlike seeing ai, this app is not created by the monopoly Microsoft, and actually works. It successfully scans QR codes without saying product not found. Color detection works great and text reading works great. only two things I would suggest, is adding a Money Reader function, and a light detector.. also, I noticed the scan QR code function, it will read a barcode, but then to read another one, you have to close the app entirely, and re-open it back up again to read another barcode. Also if it doesn’t detect the barcode for some unknown reason it doesn’t tell you it’s just stop scanning for one after about five seconds, so you have to hit scan QR code again, wait for it,, sometimes it detects it sometimes it doesn’t. If it doesn’t then you have to exit the app again and open the app back up again. If you have no idea where the barcode is at, this is a bad thing because if you can’t see the QR code, the app doesn’t give you enough time to locate where the barcode is at. at times out at literally five seconds and that’s not near long enough. But once you can get it to scan, it does detect the code correctly. I took advantage of the August summer sale even though I am without an income right now, but figured it was worth the sacrifice for such a great app. It has so much potential for the future as well that I couldn’t pass up the deal.

A request of mine would be to add a describer that will describe a particular photo on your phone and read the text and the photo has text but I hope to see this soon but accurately
  • Best OCR engine available even beat Orcam! When will we see a glasses version?

I use this app every single day. Are used to use Seeing AI or a lot of other different apps and other devices like Orcam and E Sight. But I have found is this app actually takes the place of almost all of them! I am waiting for these guys to find a pair of smart glasses that will support their app on them! When are you guys going to put your app on a pair of smart glasses? I know you looked into views explains? Have you looked into the X2 by Third Eye Generation? I think you guys would partner quite nicely and they are quite inexpensive and allow for many different apps to go onto their App Store. I think I can’t wait for the partnership or at least with some other type of glasses because I am tired of hanging my phone from my neck to use your app all the time the facial recognition really doesn’t work well that way and I think you guys would be amazing in a pair of glasses and tent to some developer out there!!!
