Everytime I use this it fails, usually when I’m with a neighbor and I want to show off this app. I think it has identified one plant out of 6 tries.

PLEASE READ and consider my suggestions I am a microbiologist and plant geneticist. Improvements: Disease identification: almost all plants at some point in their life will suffer from an infection. Your app could have the capabilities to identify these disease/sickness and provide solutions for the user. Identifying differences within the same species: identifying different gene expression/phenotype with a species by categorizing what the differences look like would be incredibly very valuable. Capability of Exporting lists: It would be beneficial if there was a capability to start projects/list for categorizing specific varieties of plants or regions of plants. To then export that list of varieties to an excel file would be fantastic. Imagine having a list titled with a gps location. You could designate the surrounding plants to this gps location due to the list title. This has great implications for your app. Species pronunciation: I am unfamiliar with a large amount of species I find in nature and I find their scientific names difficult to pronounce. Please install a pronunciation button for all species scientific names. Thank you for building this app. I hope you consider my suggestions. Please reach out if you are interested in more feedback or want to expand on any of these suggestions’ implications.
  • Inaccurate and unreliable.

The App is very well made and very user friendly. It’s quick and easy to use. That why I gave it 3 stars. That and hope that it might actually work one day. This app is completely unreliable and inaccurate. I have tried to identify plants that I already know what they are. It never, ever gets them correct. You can take any picture you want from whatever angle you want, the app just guesses and sends you suggestions. 99% of the time the actual plant is not even on the list. I cannot rely on this app to identify plants I know, much less plants I DON’T know. Very disappointed, but I will hold out hope that one day the algorithm will actually, you know, WORK.

So ease to use and has helped in identifying many plants in the forest behind our house and the cliffs around the lake (Greer’s Ferry).
  • Very poor app

Good idea; bad roll out. Definitely not ready for prime time. I took photos and tried to ID a bunch before giving up. Only 2 did they offer decent possibilities and they were the same plant, one pic a flower, the other a leaf. Most ofThe rest did not match any of the possibilities it offered. It could not even ID a Crabapple tree. They even had access to my location,Buffalo, and offered possibilities of plants found in the Middle East/Asia. WTH are they doing? Why aren’t reviews in chronological order? And if you ever get around to it, newest first is best. Very disappointed. Can I get a refund? $3.99 for very bad app. I’ve tried again May 2019 Utter fail.

I’ve complained to Apple about all the fake reviews this app has received. I don’t believe the app creator to be ethical. Plenty of better free apps for plant identification.
