  • One MAJOR flaw...

    By Brovis
Video quality and channel variety (at least where I live) are great. The interface takes some getting used to having just switched from a traditional cable DVR box and remote. Honestly, I’m pretty satisfied overall, except for one major glaring area that needs fixing in my opinion - the ability to rewind or fast forward, with any degree of precision, is totally lacking. Sure, I can attempt to scroll using the touchpad on my AppleTV remote, but who knows if that will slide smoothly forward by 30 seconds or suddenly jump 2 hours into the future? The option is there to tap left or right to jump 15 seconds, but the button you use for that is also for ‘pause’ so again, you never really know whether it will pause or fast forward or even kick you back out to a previous menu. Seems like something that would be relatively easy to fix, and yet....
  • Apple SSO support?

    By csduncan
It’s great that YouTube TV has Apple apps. However, I’ve run into a serious snag. Apparently they either implemented Apple’s SSO functionality wrong or not at all? I have to manually sign into EVERY network app I want to use (Discovery, HGTV, Syfy, etc). Until they address this, I don’t consider them a serious TV provider. Just another “little project” they’re playing with. Come’on guys!

I Always have these with YouTube
  • Great Potential but Ads and Commercials kill the joy.

    By foxfire5150
I started off paying $40 a month and now $50. I wanted to ditch cable/satellite but still watch my local sports. That’s the only reason I purchased this app. It does deliver on all my local sports. I usually start my live sports late just so I can fast forward through the commercials. I’m fine with the commercials on those since it’s being pulled off major tv networks. I can fast forward through those. However, I tried to watch the movie La La Land last night and there was truthfully more commercial time than movie time. At every commercial break, the movie was shut down and an add for the Venetian Resort would play that I could not fast forward through. Obviously this was ad time purchased and paid to Google. I’m a child of the 80’s. A perk of purchasing cable tv back then was avoiding commercials since we were actually PAYING FOR OUR PROGRAMMING. What’s the difference here. If I’m throwing down $50 a month, why is Google still sticking adds in there. I understand the ads on regular’s free. They’re providing free content and I understand they have to generate some revenue. There should be no ads I can’t fast forward through if I’m paying for the service.
  • Glitches

    By Shalisse
I love this however the glitches/bug kills me! Watching an episode know matter what freezes but audio keeps going, then restarts the episode. I have to completely close out the app and reopen it and it will start for about 2-5 seconds and then the ads start. I would guestimate it happens about every 15-30 mins. It’s annoying. Once The Walking Dead is finished for this season I will discontinue subscribing. Please fix this!!!
  • Great service but not as good as my TiVo

    By badboychronic
I love the app and the fact you keep your recordings for 9 months but my cable bill is only 38 bucks with HBO and STARZ included because I called up to drop and this is the price they gave me for over 4 years now. With that and 14.99 for TiVo to skip ads I’m good with that for now. I just can’t go back to ads and with YouTube the ads are even in the recorded shows and can not be skipped not only that for some reason I see a gray screen telling me a ad is coming ? Anyways one of the best I have tried just not there for me yet. Last always have a pack without the sports channels because not everyone looks at that and it’s most of the cost.
  • Great/Pricing Issue/Spotty Streaming Quality

    By CaptainMess
Great offerings, but spotty at the same time... Pricing is not accurate, if you offer that pricing you should be able to do from iTunes Store. Quality needs dramatic improvement. If you have the internet speed/bandwidth and proper equipment for 4K, it should default to a minimum of 1080P. You shouldn’t have to change that each and every time (therefore lagging on sports) Also being up to speed with sports is something which would be another great feature. (World Series proved this) Great channel lineup
  • Fees are excessive and features fail constantly.

    By Jvkut
Fast forward options never work correctly. Will only jump forward 15 seconds with multiple taps. Shows that stream from CBS, NBC etc. freeze without fail and force you to rewatch commercials multiple times. The freezing has been a known problem for well over a year and YouTube along with CBS and NBC have fixed nothing. Spend your money elsewhere on a real cable or satellite company.
  • More like ad tv

    By Vacapupu
They put ads on top of the channel ads. It’s awful.
  • Best tv app

    By Thicky Prince
Tried Hulu and PS view they don’t even compare to the YouTube TV app No glitching, buffering or timeouts, simply amazing technology
