If you are an anime fan then this should suit your needs especially the offline feature its really great. That being said the app itself needs work it force closes when you try to access the offline part of the app, your account doesnt sync which means if you use the same account for two different devices you have to search through everything all over again and if you have multiple series downloaded you basically lost everything.and it has a vast library good for anime lovers terrible for offline users especially if its constantly deleting your stuff. Not to mention its made by crunchyroll but they dont give you a safe way to link vrv and an actual crunchyroll account you would have to either wait for your specific day and cancel crunchyroll and use those funds to get vrv or pay twice cause they dont make it easier for you.also last but least ive been communicating with their customer service department and not once did they encourage that they are fixing or updating the app they just try to blame your device nd how to troubleshoot but no actual progress. And while talking to them 4 6 months not one update not 1

So here is my take on VRV, VRV was a strange idea that popped it to my head for no real reason so I decided to try it out since it was sitting on my home screen for about a month. When I first launched it it had a good selection of anime and other good shows to watch(this was the first time I had ever watched anime) so I had chosen the first one I thought looked interesting, and to my surprise I had officially loved watching anime ever since the day I loaded up the app. VRV has a great selection and almost endless possibilities for anime and non-anime watchers alike. Over all my opinion is that this app is a great way to watch what you love.
  • Get your crap straight....

Okay let me start by saying this app and the concept behind it, putting everything in one place, and offering so much for such a great price is totally awesome, but there are some serious flaws that I am having with their system as well the general app on the phone. 1) The system that keeps up with your payment and account is really flipping buggy, I just had to “START A FREE TRIAL”, when my debit card is already attached to my account, not to mention I have been a premium member for OVER a year. It’s really annoying and bothersome whenever you log on to watch your shows and it sits there saying you need to activate premium when you already got it and have to go through hoops to figure out why it’s not showing premium when you sit there and pay for it. 2) The app...... the app for the most part is great, good idea with everything, but the execution of the app is just plain garbage. It constantly crashes when you try to browse the content, and constantly switches on you from “dub” to “sub” whenever you touch anything on the dub side things. But, the worst thing of the entire app is that whether you download the videos to watch “offline” or not, you won’t be watching anything. If you don’t have data or WiFi you ain’t watching squat, end of discussion. 3) Another issue I have found that whether or not you have data/WiFi or not the downloaded videos will sometimes randomly stop and start buffering, sometimes you can skip a few seconds and that will fix it, other times you can’t get around it at all and will have to abandon the episode til you are sitting on WiFi to stream it. This would probably the most frustrating thing yet! Having said all that it’s a great concept but the app is done in such a halfway manner that it’s almost impossible to use. These issues continually make me consider cancelling my subscription. Work on it Ellation. It needs it badly.
  • Too Many Ads

Although the content is exactly what I’m looking for I don’t believe that I need to watch 20+ ads in the span of a 20-40 minute video. On top of that the ads aren’t unique, the same 4 or 5 ads get played every time the app decides to make me watch them.
  • Only gripe

So my only gripe from coming to vrv from just crunchy roll at the birth was the plethora of content I wanted to watch (mainly anime/funimation). Since the increase of gaming popularity all you do is flood my updates with trash rooster teeth pods and vods. While undermining great installments on your other channels you neglect to advertise. I rarely see hi-dive get content and when it does I have to painstakingly search your terrible ui to find something “new” to watch. But yet when I log on my days where I know certain shows update there nowhere in the updates section. Why is that? Why is the update section limited so heavily why do you think the need for these huge images play so hard into my ability to pick content. When it took me literal months to figure out how to expand the read more logs on my PS4 which I’m 28 I’m not that simple when it comes to tech so it was a shock to me when it took so long to figure out because I literally gave up on reading synopsis’s and just said oh well 10 min won’t hurt if it’s trash. But it does, especially when you force MULTIPLE titles from series I’ve not even once opened. Like if people sub to VRV to watch rooster teeth content. You’re annoying, and ruining the one weeb thing I had that made me feel like I wasn’t disconnected. Oh well back to trying to dig through libraries to find SOMETHING decent to watch that’s isn’t the dudes from insidergames pouring their content down my throat on OTHER platforms. Where I understand many probably tune in to that watered down “gaming journalism” instead of learning truths for themselves, it doesn’t dispute the fact I paid for this service as a way to be able to FINALLY support the licenses in other ways than buying manga or merch. Thank you, you literally make me feel like I pay to sub for slutty slice of life anime’s and sub par gaming journalism. It hurts but at least I find random gems here from literally digging through every page I can now since I’m so burned out in titles that I want to view and consume.

There are a lot of anime’s I used to watch on this app that are gone. I know the reason is because Funimation is gone. I’m just wondering why. Now, the anime’s I want to watch are either gone or on Hidive, which you have to pay for. I still love this app but I just miss the other anime’s.

Whenever I go to the home screen, it says I couldn’t connect to VRV. However when I go somewhere else like Shield Hero or something, it works. Even just going to VRV select and stuff works. Idk why this happened, but if someone can fix it, please do.
