GyPSy Guide’s narrated driving tour for Yosemite National Park is an excellent way to enjoy all the benefits of a guided tour while you explore at your own pace. There are 200+ audio points that play automatically along a tour route, featuring the best things to see and do, stories, tips and driving directions. Professional tour guides share advice on how to prioritize your time at recommended “not to be missed” viewpoints, suggested side-trips and places of interest. Tours work offline, using free GPS signal and location services, so no data roaming, network, or wifi is required while touring. Visit www.gypsyguide.com for route maps, sample commentary and tips & advice. It’s Just Like Having a Tour Guide in Your Car™ WHAT TO EXPECT: Yosemite just might be the iconic US National Park. A land of giants, massive granite cliffs and domes providing the setting for dramatic waterfalls to tumble thousands of feet over. Our tour begins as you approach each entrance, listen to an overview of the geological features you’ll be viewing and how time and the elements have shaped the valley, as well as a plan for exploring the Park. While in Yosemite Valley, with stops at Yosemite and Bridalveil Falls we’ll show where to spot for rock climbers on the sheer granite El Capitan. Considered mecca for climbers from all over the world, you’ll hear about their feats, while new records may be set for you to see. As we climb to the spectacular Glacier Point for views down into the valley, you’ll learn how important Presidential visits shaped the future for National Parks and hear how the legendary Buffalo Soldiers became guardians of the National Park. Travel to a hidden corner of Yosemite National Park, the Hetch Hetchy Valley and feel rather insignificant as you stand under the towering Giant Sequoias in Mariposa Grove. The tour officially starts and ends close to each entrance of the Park; Big Oak Flat, El Portal, Fish Camp Wawona or Lee Vining Tioga Pass entrances. Or you can join and pick up the commentary anywhere along the route. Narration will automatically trigger at the next commentary point. WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Highlights along the tour route include • Mariposa Grove • Bridalveil Falls • El Capitan • Yosemite Valley • Glacier Point • Hetch Hetchy • Tioga Pass • Yosemite Falls • Half & Sentinel Domes • Wawona Covered Bridge • Olmsted Point • Tuolumne Grove Don't miss out on the best stops and stories. Enhance your Yosemite National Park experience with our audio driving tours. BATTERY USAGE: ++ Continued use of GPS/Location Services in the background increases battery usage. We strongly recommend taking a cigarette style (DC outlet) car charger. Avoid using a direct connection to the USB port of a rental vehicle. IPADS: ** iPad models must include a GPS chip. Please note that Apple only install these on the iPad Wifi + Cellular models. Wifi only iPad models have limited location service capabilities and are unable to play commentary automatically. DOWNLOADING: The apps are larger in size in order to work offline. You must be on wifi to download as the store may block the download over cellular networks. • Best App Ever Made for Yosemite

    By iRichi3
This made my Yosemite trip 1000x better. We drove into the park in the South Gate and I remembered to turn this app on. I was blown away at how you basically have a knowledgeable tour guide in the car with you! He recommended we stop at Glacier Point, then showed us the Yosemite Valley! Just buy this app if you are going to Yosemite, even if you have been there before this will tell you about facts and stories you didn’t know! BUY BUY BUY!!!
  • Amazing technology!

Whoa! This app absolutely made the trip to Yosemite perfect for us! We named him Papa and he guided us through every part of this national treasure. Plenty of advance notice when there was a decision on a turn to take or a picture opportunity...without him we would have been lost both geographically and educationally! Although they give you a map when you enter, just save that for when you get back home! Papa gave us so much history and information on each feature that we may not have taken the time to research...real time and real eyes on the park feature as he described it. Use this app ...period! You will love it!
  • Must-have app for your visit!

I am so glad I heard about this app before taking a family trip to Yosemite! This app is absolutely perfect - it works flawlessly (even without cell service), the narrator is well-spoken and pleasant to listen to, and it is full of great facts and recommendations. We just started the tour, put the phone down, and listened to all the great info as we navigated the park. You don’t need to ever touch your phone. All of the information is automatically triggered by your GPS location. It warns you of upcoming points of interest, where to turn off, and gives hints about best parking options. This frees you up to just enjoy the views! It’s really like having a tour guide with you in your car. Absolutely worth the money! I will definitely purchase their other apps if we visit other locations they cover.

This app is absolutely amazing and worth the money. It was like we had our own personal tour guide in our car. I would highly recommend it for everyone. Even my 20 and 18 yo loved it. Best app purchase ever!!

  • A must for any trip

    By Load!!!!
Makes the drives so much more enjoyable! This was the first time I used Gyps Guide since I only just heard about it. I am mad that I did not know about it for a past trip to Yellowstone. It makes the driving so much better, and it is great to know in real time what you are seeing and if you are missing anything. Between the navigation, tips, stories, and suggestions, it is a must, especially for national parks! I am excited to see future improvements and new locations.
  • Don’t go on a trip without it!!

While planning our trip to Yosemite National Park, I read about this app somewhere and thought ok, I’d risk the few bucks!! I am sooooo glad I did! We didn’t miss a thing while riding through Yosemite, and decided to ride to Hetch Hetchy as well! It’s like having your own personal tour guide! I happened to have bought a portable battery charger for this trip, so I never had a problem with a dying battery. If you’re planning on spending money to go on vacation, then spend the extra on this app and the battery charger. You won’t regret it! Now I can’t wait to go on more Gypsy Guide tours!

This audio driving tour was absolutely perfect for our first visit to Yosemite. So helpful and informative. I thoroughly enjoyed this app and will definitely be using other gypsy guide apps for other parks! In my opinion, this app is a must have for your first visit.
  • Really great

This app was surprisingly good. I just spent two days in Yosemite, and this app worked beautifully. This is an audio guide. You start the app while you’re driving and it gives you information as you drive, based on knowing your location and which direction you’re traveling. The script is quite rich, and the person who recorded the audio was quite skilled at it. It was like having a tour guide riding in the car with us. In addition to information about stops and scenery, it also give navigation information that is very well timed to help you get into the right lane at the right time for wherever you want to go. It was absolutely worth the several dollars I paid for it. Keep in mind, though, that this is just an audio guide, and while it was great, I was initially surprised that it didn’t have any text-based info in it. That is, it doesn’t have anything in it that you can read in advance of your trip, to research what sites to see or to plan your itinerary. Just get a different app for that and plan on launching this one as you approach the entrance to Yosemite National Park, and keep it running whenever you’re in the car.
