  • Does Nord Download correctly?

    This purchased Nord VPN was downloaded to the wrong computer. So far, there is no live person to answer my questions since their many articles do NOT cover my problem. Can a NORDVPN person call me? Or at least email me my new apple ID -which Apple set up and I purchased this through their Apple store. They sent me to NordVPN. I thought Apple could correct the problem. I should not have to pay twice and get the correct download on the correct MacAir of which I have only one.

    This app's kill switch is broken and have chatted with the tech's . This is a major security concern , I don't see any urgency for a fix for this . My memory is riddled with work and misery from their Mac apps both openvpn and ikev2. I am now using Express vpn and their mac app works flawlessly

    Why do I always have to put the UN/PW in everytime I restart my computer. Why isn't it logged in the "keychain" That would be helpful.
  • After having for nearly 2 years leaving NORD VPN

    Nord VPN started great but after nearly each and every Mac Os security bug fix the App becomes unstable. This last time I created a new seperate account which they billed me a month for thinking maybe because my two years was nearing a close something funny was going on with my account but nope- after re download and new acocunt still unable to connect even after hours with tech support chat. (no # to call). Thanks for crapping out on me guys! Go with someone else if you have a mac.

    I signed up for 3 years, and downloaded this app and it’s been working very well so far. It’s not overly complicated - I had another NordVPN app installed previously and that was way too hard to handle and super intrusive on my iMac. This by contrast has been pain-free.
  • Frustratingly close to good

    NordVPN could really be an excellent product if they were to clean-up some of the annoyances. First, the good: • There are loads of serves all over the world plus speciality serves like P2P and obfuscated • You can chose to connect via UDP or TCP • There’s a “kill switch” that will terminate your Internet connection if the VPN drops. • Nice, clean, UI The not-so-good: • Don’t even bother to use the “Quick Connect” feature. It will invariably connect you to the slowest server • The app CONSTANTLY logs you out. Every other day I have to log back into Nord on my phone or laptop. Nord support says that if you open the app when you don’t have an Internet connection it will log you out. This is true, however it logs you out other times as well, like after an upgrade. • With each upgrade they remove useful features. You used to be able to search for servers by distance or speed. Gone. You used to be able to “favourite” servers you found from the search bar. Gone. Once you connect to a server there is no way to add it to your favourites unless you disconnect, scroll through the entire list of servers, find the server you were using and then add it • Running the same version of Nord, one of my laptops shows “Recents” in the sidebar and the other does not. Again, this makes it very difficult to go back to servers • The entire process of locating and saving servers is needlessly frustrating. For an app with such a nice UI, the UX is terrible • Netflix works most of the time but I’ve never been able to connect to Amazon Prime using Nord This could easily be a five-star app if Nord would clean-up the UX

    App started out fine, but over time has become very buggy and unusable. Now the app says I need a subscription, however when choosing a subscription (they are not exactly cheap, but alright, for a paid VPN you get what you pay for) it says I already have an active subscription. It is now unusable. I have contacted support multiple times, no response. As I use this for work, to protect sensitive documents and logins, I am now unable to work and have started using another VPN. Very disappointing. Expect much more for a paid VPN vs. a free one. Would not recommend for anyone using this in a professional setting, or for anyone who wants a reliable VPN they can count on.
  • Corrupts system network, loses login info

    My wi-fi often stops working with certain sites getting stuck in DNS timeouts. If you launch Nordvpn, connect and disconnect, it fixes the issue. I don't find it acceptable for a vpn app to be affecting the computer network while the app is not even running. I don't know if the killswitch is leaving behind hosts modifications or something of that sort but it needs to be fixed. The app also loses login info too frequently.
  • Regret buying the 3-year subscription

    I'm still in my first year with Nord. I switched because they say they're far stabler than other VPN's. I use their service on two Macs, an Ipad, and an Iphone, all running the latest software. Every time Apple updates its software--even minor updates--I have trouble staying connected to Nord. The last conversation with Nord support had me install NordVPN IKE. Since then, whenever I turn my machines off and back on, I can't reconnect. Closing Nord and trying again does nothing. I'm frustrated because I HAVE to disconnect from the VPN to pay online bills and interact with state government websites. Somehow these companies detect the VPN and refuse to allow me access. Besides, I shouldn't feel frightened to turn off and then back on the VPN. Nord support just has me do the same tinkering--like most tech support teams--that doesn't fix the underlying issue. And I don't WANT to be a computer technician any more than someone who buys a car wants to be a mechanic to use the car reliably. If I hadn't sunk the cash into the 3-year subscription, I'd dump Nord. Yes, I value my privacy. Yes, I'm willing to put up with SOME inconvenience to protect my privacy. But if I can't use your service and your support team can't give me a reliable fix that lasts, then your services are no use to me. Very disappointed in Nord and I can't recommend them. ******UPDATE***** The developer has asked me to update my review with a "ticket ID"... Another issue I have with Nord: you choose the option to have your chat with support emailed to you after your chat is finished, but this happens unreliably. I get SOME emailed chat transcripts but not others. And the last few I have not received. So no record of the frustrating exchanges, I guess. So much for transparency.
