  • It’s OK

Pretty good as a dictionary, but all they really want you to do is buy the more expensive version. So, in general, it’s pretty annoying to use.
  • Excellent reference source!

Great and diverse, I wish it could have the option to add content/words.
  • It is great.

  • Outrageous Rip-off

I have got a new tablet and downloaded the premium Oxford dictionaries I had bought before. It’s been shocking to see that when I open these Oxford dictionaries on the new tablet now they show commercials and all the premium features are gone. They are asking for the premium version to be paid again. This is a real rip-off. I want my money back. I only wish I could get them negative stars.
  • No phrasal verbs under English "draw"

Phrasal verbs under English verb "draw" such as draw in, draw up ... , are missing in the latest version.

Before updating to this version, at least take the time to back up your device so that you can restore the old version if necessary. If you have not yet purchased this app, the Collins Spanish Dictionary from Cole Zhu is superior in every way, in my opinion (as far as dictionary content alone is concerned, both are excellent, but after extensive use I slightly prefer the Collins; app-wise, Cole Zhu's interface and functionality are far better than MobiSystems') I have found this new version to be very unstable, with frequent crashes. The favorites feature is broken: when I click on a favorite, I get a blank screen. Again, I see no significant improvements. I will update this review if anything changes. This "update" has prompted me to turn off automatic updates forever! ***** My previous review: Excellent content, deficient app— The content of the Oxford Spanish Dictionary is excellent, but this app's usability is poor: (1) You can't look up words quickly from other apps. Many dictionary apps let you select a word in another app, click on "share" and then tap on the dictionary app's icon to go directly to the entry you need. Without such a feature, a dictionary app doesn't deserve more than two stars. (2) This app feels sluggish. While other dictionary apps simply display search results immediately, this one from MobiSystems has a spinning circle that gives me the constant feeling that I'm being kept waiting. MobiSystems should eliminate that element of its design. Also, it often displays unnecessary splash screens that add to the impression of a slow app. These things really detract from perceived app quality. (3) The app always defaults to English as the search language. The user should be able to change this! (4) The "word-of-the-day" notification feature is broken beyond comprehension and has been for a long time. The push notifications often show you the wrong word, and although within the app there is a word of the day for each language, the push notifications, bizarrely, are for English words only. (5) The interface has been made uglier, and it increasingly gives you the feeling that you are using adware, even if you have paid for the full version. I will say that MobiSystems' Android versions are significantly better in some respects, specifically concerning points (1) and (2). For now, I'm giving this app a single star not only because it has these problems but also because they would be very easy to fix. Oxford, please offer a WordWeb version!
  • Best of all

  • Don’t buy this. It’s ridiculous.

Don’t waste your money. 1st, its way overpriced. 2nd, you can’t just open it and type in a word to get its meaning. You have to solve some Rube Goldberg riddle to get to the simplest function of a dictionary: look up words. They have some 2 page explanation but it’s too amateurish and obviously written by some low level secretary making an attempt at confusing computer lingo. And thirdly, when you complain they are so stupid as to ask you for suggestions on how to fix it. Did I mention ridiculous. Don’t waste your money.
