  • Randomly Jumps

    When reading headlines, the app will randomly scroll down the page. This makes it really tough to read and is incredibly frustrating.

    The way ads pop up makes the app practically unusable. It will pop up while you are reading a story or looking at the different articles available to read and all of a sudden the content in the article has moved causing you to have to go back up to find where you were.

    I’m not sure what is wrong with this app that constantly causes content to jump around while scrolling through headlines. One second you see a story only to be whipped far down the screen. This leaves the user scrolling back up to find there previous place. Based upon my experience and other reviews, it seems that it’s time to hire a new developer.
  • Blame Gatehouse Media for the problems

    Gatehouse Media is the worst thing that ever happened to The Columbus Dispatch. Editorially and journalistically, it’s still a great paper, but both the print and electronic versions have suffered from disastrous technical problems since the acquisition. Add to that the abysmal customer service department—you can’t even call and talk to a representative after noon (!)—and it’s becoming increasingly difficult to justify continuing my subscription. If it weren’t the only viable source for local news in Columbus (the TV stations’ web coverage is even spottier than their broadcasts), I’d have dropped my subscription long ago.

    What crap! App asks for my username and password every few days. I can see from previous reviews this is an ongoing problem. FIX IT!!

    You can’t search on anything. You only get to read what they think is important! You have to go through every section to find anything! So disappointing!

    The app no longer stores user ID and password, so I need type it in each morning. The buttons to download or view in a different format do not work in the app.

    We pay monthly for access to Dispatch App. Frequently asked for email and password which is never accepted. Not worth the money.
  • Very Bad, Thinking of Cancelling

    We cancelled home delivery of the Dispatch and went completely digital because the paper was often delivered too late to read. This app is so bad, we may be done with the Dispatch for good. App is hard to log into, unstable, clunky, and the graphics are bad. Possibly the worst iPad app ever.
