  • Day One Features that I Like

    By ThreesTrifecta
    - The reminders and custom reminders feature. - In-App support without having to use an email. They’re pretty responsive. - There is end-to-end encryption, but I would treat it like any other service. You can disable Sync and do the exporting and importing yourself, which works well for me. All I have to do is export it to and then import it later and set a monthly reminder. - The pre-trial version is buggy, but the trial and post-trial seems ok. - I haven’t used the Mac app yet. - You can attach up to 30 photos in their original size. There isn’t support for Live Photos. - Seems to be the best Journaling app so far. I would use Standard Notes or Drafts, but neither support uploading images via the mobile app and the latter doesn’t use E2E encryption. Day One is a mostly native app as far as I can tell. Hope this helps in making a decision! I would suggest trying it out.
  • Now no audio

I was happily using this app, doing audio recording from my Apple Watch. Now suddenly audio recording is only available in the Premium version. This is an unexpected downgrade. Grr.
  • 3.0 update - a big step backwards on the iPad

    By GybeTack
This was a 5 star app until the latest major update. It used to be simple and intuitive to use, but now has a learning curve. Still the best journaling app available, but Capture365 comes close if you’re looking for something without a subscription plan.
  • Some suggestions..

    By mistpixie
I love this app, I’ve been using it for a few months and I really enjoy it. Since the last update, screenshots won’t post directly to the app.. I have to open the actual app and create an entry and add the photo. Also, an “undo” button would be helpful as there are times I’ve accidentally deleted paragraphs. Loving the moon phase addition, would love to see what astrological sign the sun/moon is in, and be able to filter by that. My biggest complaint is with fonts.. making text bold does not make it bold when editing an entry, only when hitting “done” does it show the changes I’ve made. Very inconvenient to switch back and forth to see the effects. The ability to upload gifs, and/or things like Boomerang would be awesome!

This is, by far, the best journaling app of all time, and one of the best apps of any category. Well worth the subscription price.
  • Great service. Great product.

I am a big fan of Day One. The app is fantastic. It will certainly help you journal more. Sometimes I don’t have time to journal, so I will just snap a picture, drag it in, and Day One will capture the time and location of the photo which then integrated into the map feature. I love that. I copied all of my old digital journals into Day One, so all of my stuff is in one place and very organized. I make good use of the printing feature. The books are great quality and a very reasonable price. The service is excellent and timely. They are responsive and friendly. I highly recommend.
  • Micro subscriptions not good

Same as others. Plenty of cloud providers like Dropbox or iCloud. Seems like a money play not technical reason. Response from developer didn’t address the issue. They just continued to push their agenda not listen.

I have to keep up with a lot of technical details and customers. I have tried many methods and DayOne is absolutely the best! And you will not find such fast and professional support!!! Mark
