The powerful combination of award-winning apps and a proven method—YNAB’s Four Rules—has changed the lives of hundreds of thousands of people by teaching them to get control of their finances, stop stressing, and live the life they want to live. A Proven Method—YNAB’s Four Rules Rule One: Give Every Dollar A Job | Be intentional about what you want your money to do before you spend it. Rule Two: Embrace Your True Expenses | Break up larger, less frequent expenses into smaller, manageable amounts. By saving monthly for insurance premiums, holidays, or car repairs, when the time comes, your money is ready and waiting to do its job. Rule Three: Roll With The Punches | When life changes, so must your budget. Make adjustments and move along. Flexible budgets succeed because they’re guilt-free, realistic, and sustainable. Rule Four: Age Your Money | As you repeat the first three rules, you’ll increase the time between earning a dollar and the moment you need to spend it. When your money is at least a month old, you’ll have finally broken the paycheck to paycheck cycle for good. • Life changing

    By wordsmitherer
It feel like my life will be divided into BY (before YNAB) and AY. So grateful for this app. I have a few UI quibbles but they pale under the value I get from the app and approach. Also, the YNAB team seems pretty responsive to suggestions.
  • Got my finances- and life- in order

    By Samster03
I was really just living paycheck to paycheck even with a decent income and never getting above water. Now I feel like I am in control of my expenses and savings and so much more aware of what I have and what I spend. This service is in a league by itself- used mint for years and it doesnt even come close.
  • Highly recommended

I can’t recommend this enough for someone that has tried other services and they haven’t worked out. I tried Mint and Clarity multiple times and found YNAB differs greatly that those show easily how much money you have and how much you’ve spent in each category but it doesn’t put you one step ahead of allocating. Download your last few months of statements for your accounts and take the time to separate your purchases into categories. Set budgets based on this and make it habit to MANUALLY enter your transactions daily. Don’t link your accounts and try and just make it do your work for you in the background. Stick to it and within a couple months you’ll have control of your money down to the penny. It’s amazing! Lots of videos online and info to help set these us and how to best organize it.
  • Help desk takes too long

I loved the idea of this app and I thought it would make things easier. Unfortunately it has made budgeting much more difficult. It has taken 2 months to figure out there system and it is still not functioning how they promised. The biggest setback is that to get any help you have to wait a day or two for an email response. It has been several weeks now going back and forth mainly because when I finally have the time to dedicate a few hrs ( which is what this is requiring) I then have to wait several days to get my questions answered.
  • $84 a year for this app

    By Wheel Lyfe
They don’t tell you the price of this app until you create an account. I’m so done with having to subscribe to everything under the sun. The fewer hands in my bank account, the better. That’s the most important part of budgeting - eliminating extraneous expenses. I’ll keep a paper ledger of my budget before I spend $84 a year on this app. Another app deleted.
  • Cost and not better

I have been with YNAB through many of their upgrades and have lived the changes. Each time improving, until now. This one is horrible!! Not user friendly, less control over your budget and to much access to personal information. Not sure who you are trying to compete with, but I loved the user friendly YNAB 4 and just wish there was still an app to go with it without being like the rest of the fiscal world trying to take my money every year for something I can create in a spreadsheet that is more friendly!!
  • Really works, just commit to it

    By tomatoeraincow
I was on top of my budget for a full 4 month period - I was responsible and thoughtful with my spending. And then I thought “oh I got this now” and stopped for a month - my budget and spending went downhill so quickly I couldn’t even bring myself to open the app to look at how awful I was managing my finances. They have a “Fresh Start” option, which I just used today. I’m resolved to stay on top of my finances this time and commit to using the app consistently. This is truly the best budgeting app out there. You just have to STICK TO IT and you’ll be onto a long term healthy relationship with money.
  • YNAB has changed my life

    By Jabadafa
Now that I’m in control, I have so much less stress during financial swings and it has become so much less stressful to talk with my budgeting partner about it all! Highly recommend. Just jump in. It takes a while to get adjusted to the YNAB way of thinking, but once you do there is so much financial freedom you won’t believe how simple it is.
  • Outstanding Budgeting App! Life Changing.

Once you commit to using this app, you will begin treating your earnings with respect. Once you give every dollar a job, you begin to realize every unbudgeted dollar you spend means the money has to come from somewhere you’ve already allocated. Watch your relationship with money change for the better. Watch your mindset change about impulse purchases. Watch your ability to make decisions about your financial future vastly improve.
  • I love YNAB, I hate this APP!

    By Dave.iOS
06.08.2019 The way YNAB works is great, it fits how my OCD works with my finances. This APP on the other hand. It does all the basic thins yes, but it lacks clarity. I sometimes get visual overload with all the text on the screen and trying to figure out was it cleared is it paid. I know there are small indicators for all these things but my eyes feel like they are all over the place to figure the status of something. The power of our devices is amazing, I can’t see why this app is not built with powerful functions that make using it super easy and with visual queues to help give fast easy clarification when you look at something. I will stay with YNAB no we that I have found you, but as a new member to your world I am letting you know that I think your APP can you some love. A bar line that fills and empties can go a long way for a quick visual indicator.
